In today’s XRP News, the XRP Ledger’s much-awaited Batch upgrade will not go live on Sept. 29 as many expected. Validator support dropped below the required level, resetting the countdown clock.
This is the second delay for the feature. It comes as traders watch XRP price today closely and assess what the delay could mean for broader XRP price prediction discussions.
Why Was the XRP Batch Upgrade Delayed?
The upgrade, called BatchV1_1, needed support from more than 80% of trusted validators for two straight weeks.
That support briefly fell below the required threshold. When that happens, the countdown resets completely, even if the dip was short.
When Will the XRP Batch Upgrade Go Live?
BatchV1_1 regained backing from 30 of 35 trusted validators on Sept. 25. A fresh two-week window began right after.
That puts the earliest possible activation around Oct. 9 at 14:46 UTC, but only if support holds steady the whole time.
Why Do XRPL Upgrade Dates Keep Changing?
This case shows how XRP Ledger amendments actually work. Writing code and shipping it does not make a feature live.
Even hitting the validator majority once is not enough. The XRPL amendment process tracks continuous support. If backing falls to 80% or below, the system logs a lost-majority event and drops the amendment from its countdown.
Support has to come back and then hold for a full two weeks before anything changes on the live network.
What Is the XRP Batch Feature?
Batch would let users and apps bundle two to eight transactions into a single action. There are four modes available:
Mode
What It Does
All or Nothing
Every step must succeed, or the whole batch fails
Only One
Just one transaction in the batch needs to succeed
Until Failure
Transactions run in order until one fails
Independent
Each transaction runs on its own, regardless of others
The All or Nothing mode has drawn the most attention. It could let someone send a tokenized asset and a payment at the same time, so neither side completes without the other.
XRPL documentation also mentions use cases like NFT minting, trading offers, platform fees, and swaps between multiple accounts.
Has XRP Batch Failed Before?
This is not the first version of Batch. An earlier build was pulled by developers before it ever activated, after they found a serious authorization flaw.
The fixed version, BatchV1_1, was folded into a later software release called xrpld and went through the amendment process on its own.
RippleX's head of engineering, Ayo Akinyele, had said projects were already being built with Batch in mind. He noted that once it activates, more details about work with asset managers could follow, though he did not name any partners or set firm dates.
What Other XRP Ledger Upgrades Are Delayed?
Batch is not the only feature stuck in limbo. A separate upgrade called PermissionDelegationV1_1 also lost the validator support it needed.
This one would let a business give another account permission to do specific tasks, like payments or compliance checks, without ever sharing the private keys that control the funds.
For now, both upgrades are on hold until validator support returns and stays steady.
Does This Affect XRP Price Today?
Upgrades like Batch do not automatically move price. They matter more for developers and platforms building on XRP Ledger than for short-term trading.
Anyone watching charts and forecasts should treat this delay as a technical update, not a signal about where things head next.
The bigger takeaway is that XRPL amendments need steady, ongoing validator agreement, not just a single vote of support.
