XRP news today centers on major ecosystem developments surrounding upgrades and institutional flows. Two delayed XRPL upgrades are close to going live, ETF money keeps arriving, and a company built around XRP is nearing Wall Street.
XRP News Today starts with the ledger itself, since that story sets the tone for the rest.
The upgrades are Batch and Permission Delegation. A validator known as Vet says both are about 11 days from activation. The wider estimate is early October, and it holds only if validator support stays above 80%.
Both tools have had a rough road. Batch was pulled back after a flaw in how signatures were checked. Permission Delegation ran into a fee-related problem. Fixed versions shipped in xrpld 3.3.0 after more audits and testing.
Batch, listed as XLS-56, lets a user bundle up to eight transactions into one package. What matters is the mode chosen, since it decides what happens if a step fails. TheXRPL documentation lists four:
ALLORNOTHING: Every step succeeds, or the whole batch reverts.
ONLYONE:Only the first successful step applies
UNTILFAILURE:Steps run in order and stop at the first failure
INDEPENDENT:Each step is tried on its own
Inner steps carry no fee, since the outer transaction covers costs. Every account involved must sign. That cuts the risk of half-finished trades.
Permission Delegation,or XLS-75, answers a different question: who should be allowed to do what. An account owner can hand narrow powers to another account through a DelegateSet transaction. The master keys never have to leave cold storage.
Limits: Each delegate can hold up to 10 permissions
Control:The owner can revoke or change them at any time
Safety: Key changes and new permission grants cannot be delegated
For banks and issuers, the pair means safer daily operations and less settlement risk. One caveat remains. A related amendment, fixCleanup3_4_0, sits near 49% support. Until it passes, some granular permissions, such as PaymentBurn, carry temporary limits.
The token has not reacted much to any of this XRP news today. It traded at $1.5 at press time, according to CoinMarketCap.

Total net assets: $1.68 billion, about 1.79% of XRP's market cap.
Value traded: $39.37 million.
Largest fund: Bitwise's XRP, with $616.41 million in net assets.
Net assets peaked at $1.77 billion on Sept. 25, then eased. Weekly inflows have stayed positive since mid-August, including $75.59 million in the week ended Sept. 25.
On the other hand, Bitwise filed an updated 424B3 prospectus for its XRP ETF on September 28, keeping the fund’s registration documents current as it continues issuing shares. The filing itself does not signal a new XRP ETF launch or a change in the fund’s strategy; it mainly updates the existing prospectus.
Matt Hougan, chief investment officer at Bitwise, explained the appeal for financial advisers. They see XRP as durable, given its long record.
That institutional appetite is also shaping a newer kind of player: the XRP treasury company. Evernorth is built around one asset. It holds XRP and plans to put it to work, aiming to grow the XRP behind each share. Ripple, SBI Group, Pantera Capital and Kraken back it.
Now it is heading to public markets. Evernorth is merging with Armada Acquisition Corp. II, a listed shell company. Shareholders vote on Sept. 30, the last major hurdle, perEvernorth's X account. Here is what the deal includes:
Ticker: XRPN, on Nasdaq.
Holdings: About 473 million XRP, one of the largest known corporate stacks.
Plans: Yield, infrastructure and capital markets.
Financing: A $30 million refinancing through 4% convertible preferred PIK notes, available only after approval.
Away from listings, the ledger's real-world asset business is growing in Brazil. About $2.7 billion is tied to tokenized assets there. That is roughly 40% of tokenization on the XRP Ledger, according toRippleX's Markus Infanger. Ripple sees more room in payments and credit.
Several dates now matter.
Sept. 30: Evernorth shareholders vote on the merger.
Early October: Batch and Permission Delegation activate if support holds above 80%.
fixCleanup3_4_0: It needs more validator votes. The amendment bundles fixes for AMMs, vaults and multi-purpose tokens.
Roadmap: Lending upgrades, confidential and dynamic tokens, and fee sponsorship are in development.
The real test comes after activation. If institutions start running atomic settlements and delegated treasury roles, this week's XRP news today will look like the point where the ledger got ready for them.
