XRP’s $12.5B Volume Surge Puts $2.89 Price Target in Focus

XRP is back in the spotlight after recording more than $12.5 billion in 7-day spot volume across 10 major exchanges, adding fresh momentum to its recovery from the $1.00 region.

According to market commentator X Finance Bull, the surge is broad-based rather than concentrated on one platform. Binance, Upbit, and Coinbase reportedly generated about $8.11 billion in combined seven-day XRP spot volume.

OKX added $970.58 million, Kraken $827.28 million, Bybit $697.30 million, Gate $628.11 million, Bitstamp $531.67 million, Bitget $500.98 million, and Crypto.com $302.03 million.

Altogether, the 10 exchanges recorded approximately $12.57 billion in XRP spot volume over seven days.

Short-term activity remains elevated, with XRP reportedly posting around $1.89 billion in 24-hour spot volume, alongside $8.83 billion in futures volume and $3.79 billion in open interest. XRP's market cap is near $94.55 billion

Furthermore, the top altcoin gained 50% on the weekly chart to trade at $1.49 per CoinCodex data.

XRP’s $1.64 Breakout Could Ignite Rally Toward $2.89

What’s happening behind the scenes? Well, XRP’s next major test is technical.

Market analyst Diana has highlighted the $1.53–$1.64 resistance zone as the level XRP needs to overcome before a larger breakout can develop.

A clean move above $1.64 could put $1.79 in sight. However, the path may not be straightforward. XRP could first retrace toward $1.27–$1.30, giving buyers another opportunity to step in before the next leg higher.

If this support holds, Diana's chart points toward $2.58, followed by the closely watched $2.86–$2.89 range.

From roughly $1.49, a climb to $2.89 would represent an increase of about 94%, taking XRP within striking distance of the psychological $3 level.

What’s the potential XRP roadmap? Well, break $1.64, target $1.79, potentially retest lower support, then push toward $2.58 and $2.89.

Institutional activity and adoption could also strengthen the broader narrative. Wall street giant Goldman Sachs has disclosed exposure to XRP ETFs, while Gemini has enabled direct XRP Ledger deposits and withdrawals for users in Singapore, expanding access to XRPL across Asia.

For now, XRP's biggest hurdle remains the $1.53–$1.64 resistance zone. A decisive breakout backed by strong spot volume could give the bullish case significantly more momentum.
