XRP hovers near $1.05 support as the CLARITY Act Senate vote nears. See XRP price targets, resistance levels, and what could move $XRP next.

XRP is trading near $1.05, sitting right on top of a support zone that traders are watching closely. The token is down over 1% in the past 24 hours and down more than 40% since the start of the year.

The next big catalyst is not a chart pattern. It's a bill in Washington.

Where does XRP price stand right now?

At the time of writing, XRP trades around $1.0685, according to derivatives data. The 24-hour futures volume sits near $1.23 billion, and open interest is at $2.38 billion, down slightly from the previous session.

Spot volume over the same period is much smaller, at $158.21 million. That gap tells you something simple: most of the action in XRP right now is happening in leveraged futures markets, not spot buying.

The long-short ratio on Binance sits at 2.63, meaning more traders are betting on a price increase than a decrease. But that kind of one-sided positioning can also set up sharp liquidation events if price moves the wrong way.

What are the key support and resistance levels for XRP?

On the 4-hour chart, XRP is defending the $1.048 to $1.05 zone. The broader structure still shows a pattern of lower highs, which is typically a sign that sellers remain in control.

Traders following the setup are watching for a specific sequence. First, the altcoin needs to hold $1.05. Then it needs to reclaim $1.083. After that, a break and retest of $1.10 would confirm the move higher.

A 4-hour close above $1.10 could open the door toward $1.14, then $1.183, then $1.20. Further out, $1.30 sits as a bigger target, though that level has capped rallies before.

On the downside, losing the $1.048 support could send the altcoin toward the $1.008 to $1.00 zone, an area with heavy liquidity from past trading.

Why is the CLARITY Act important for XRP price?

The CLARITY Act is a bill that would split oversight of digital assets between the SEC and the CFTC. For Ripple specifically, supporters say it would help lock in the token's status as a commodity rather than a security, something Ripple has fought over in court for years.

Monday's Senate schedule listed only a vote on a spending bill, with no action on CLARITY. If a cloture motion is filed Wednesday, August 5, a procedural vote could come as early as Friday, August 7. That would not be a final passage vote.Monday Senate schedule listed

The bill still needs to clear the Senate before lawmakers leave for recess on August 10. Lawmakers could also try to speed things up through a bipartisan petition or unanimous consent.

Crypto advocacy group Stands With Crypto says supporters have reached out to lawmakers more than 1 million times urging passage of the bill. Even with that pressure, debate continues over regulatory oversight, state enforcement powers, anti-money laundering rules, and ethics provisions.

What is SBI Holdings saying about XRP?

Japanese financial group SBI Holdings weighed in on XRP's price during its Q1 FY2027 earnings presentation. Director Yasuo Nishikawa, who spoke on behalf of CEO Yoshitaka Kitao, said the company's crypto business has slowed as investors wait for the CLARITY Act outcome.

Nishikawa said XRP's price looks like it is holding its breath for regulatory news out of Washington. He said the token has stayed subdued while investors track the bill's progress.

Despite the sluggish price action, SBI is not backing away from Ripple. Nishikawa said the firm's stake in Ripple is currently worth about 6.6 trillion yen, a figure that shows continued confidence in the company even as the token struggles.

SBI's wider crypto business posted weaker earnings due to slow market conditions, though its global market-making arm stayed profitable. The firm is also expanding into stablecoin services and lending products, and it's planning to acquire Bitbank, a move that would push its user base to around 3 million accounts and raise assets under custody to about 870 billion yen.

What's the outlook for XRP this week?

For now, the altcoin price sits in a holding pattern. The token is stuck between traders hoping for a CLARITY Act breakthrough and a chart structure that still leans bearish.

A confirmed Senate move before the August 10 recess could act as a real catalyst, positive or negative depending on the outcome. Until then, $1.05 remains the level to watch on the downside and $1.10 on the upside.

Nothing here guarantees a specific price outcome. Legislative timelines have slipped before, and crypto markets can move quickly on both news and rumor.
