The XRP Ledger has reached another significant milestone, with the total number of wallet addresses now exceeding 8 million. The latest figures, posted by crypto media outlet BSCN on X, also reveal a notable shift in XRP ownership, as fewer tokens are now required to rank among the network’s largest holders.

The updated wallet distribution data indicates that holding 2,151 XRP is now enough to place an address within the top 10% of all XRP wallets. This represents a considerable decline from the previous threshold of roughly 4,000 XRP, suggesting that XRP holdings have become more widely distributed across a growing number of wallet addresses.

At the higher end of the distribution, BSCN reported that approximately 44,000 XRP is now sufficient to enter the top 1% of holders based on the latest available data.

Falling Threshold Reflects Changing Holder Distribution

The reduction in the amount of XRP needed to reach the top ownership brackets follows the XRP Ledger’s continued growth in wallet addresses.

While the network has surpassed 8 million wallets, the latest distribution figures suggest that ownership is becoming less concentrated than it was when the top 10% required nearly twice as many tokens.

The figures shared by BSCN focus on wallet distribution rather than price performance, highlighting how the network’s holder base has evolved as more participants join the XRP ecosystem.

The lower thresholds indicate that the expanding number of wallets has changed the overall distribution of XRP holdings, even though the total supply remains unchanged.

Community Offers Different Views on the Data

The latest milestone prompted different interpretations from members of the crypto community.

Crypto_Beard questioned whether the growing wallet count alone provides a complete picture of adoption. He argued that although 8 million wallets appears impressive, the fact that only 2,151 XRP is needed to rank in the top 10% suggests that a significant portion of the supply may still be concentrated among relatively few large holders.

In his view, experienced market participants are likely paying closer attention to whale concentration than the increasing number of wallet addresses.

Sugee presented a different perspective, describing the milestone as evidence that adoption continues to expand steadily. He maintained that the increase to more than 8 million wallets reflects a broader holder base rather than activity driven solely by large investors.

He also suggested that a larger number of wallets could strengthen the XRP Ledger by improving liquidity, increasing utility, and making the network more resilient. Sugee added that if demand continues to grow while the amount of XRP needed to reach the top ownership tiers keeps declining, the changing distribution dynamics could become increasingly important over time.
