The XRP ledger holds millions of wallets, but most carry very little. A few carry enormous sums. A post from crypto enthusiast Amanda (@Amanda_loveeee) put that reality in plain view, sharing a breakdown of XRP wallet balances across the entire network.
She shared a snapshot of the XRP rich list, and at the very top, just 4 accounts hold one billion XRP or more. Together, those 4 wallets control over 6.4 billion XRP. Only 23 accounts sit in the 500 million to 1 billion range, collectively holding nearly 12.8 billion XRP.
Moving further down, 57 accounts hold between 100 million and 500 million XRP, and 131 accounts hold between 20 million and 100 million XRP. Crossing into five figures, 151 accounts hold between 10 million and 20 million XRP, while 172 accounts hold between 5 million and 10 million XRP.

The 1 million to 5 million range contains 1,445 accounts. The 500,000 to 1 million range holds 2,410. These are still exceptionally thin slices of the total wallet count. By the time you reach the 100,000 to 500,000 range, the number jumps to 28,743 accounts. Below that, 10,544 accounts hold between 75,000 and 100,000 XRP.
The lower tiers grow rapidly. Over 433,000 accounts hold between 1,000 and 5,000 XRP. Nearly 2.4 million accounts hold between 20 and 500 XRP. About 1.3 million accounts hold 20 XRP or less.
One community member offered a separate lens on the data. While XRP is notable for large wallet holders and prominent whale activity, he noted that filtering out corporate and exchange wallets significantly changes the entry requirements.
According to his breakdown, the top 0.1% of active addresses require 275,000+ XRP, representing roughly 8,000 wallets. Joining the top 1% requires 44,000 to 46,000 XRP, covering around 80,000 wallets. The top 5% threshold is 7,500+ XRP, and the top 10% begins at 2,100+ XRP.

One member questioned the data’s accuracy, noting that many holders operate multiple wallets. That factor could affect how any individual’s true position maps onto the chart.
Another member said that the top tiers likely reflect institutions and escrow accounts rather than individual retail holders. He claimed that about 0.1% of holders have become millionaires after 14 years.
