XRP has experienced a notable price correction recently, dropping from a peak of $1.70 to approximately $1.30. Throughout this period, there was a significant shift in on-chain movements among major investors. Long-term holding withdrawals have diminished considerably, contrasted by a surge in liquidity directed towards trading platforms.
Binance Withdrawals Plummet to Five-Year Low
Data from CryptoQuant reveals that the volume of XRP withdrawals from Binance has hit its lowest point in five years, with major investors retrieving an average of $49.7 million worth of XRP daily. The last time this level was observed was in October 2021. In stark contrast, when XRP’s price reached $3.30 in February 2025, daily withdrawal volumes soared to $3.5 billion. CryptoQuant tracks on-chain data and exchange flows within the cryptocurrency market.
“The slowdown in withdrawal speed suggests that the active long-term accumulation phase has temporarily paused,” observed a market analyst.
This scenario indicates that substantial market players are adopting a cautious approach, refraining from making decisive commitments and switching to a ‘wait and see’ tactic. Although the inclination towards long-term retention has weakened, it does not imply complete market stagnation. However, large holders seem to exhibit more caution compared to previous months.
XRP Influx to Exchanges Reaches Seven-Month High
The past 30 days have witnessed an inflow of 1.669 billion XRP to Binance, marking the highest level in seven months. During the same period, exchanges collectively received 6.05 billion XRP. This monthly total is the highest since March, effectively doubling the volume recorded in mid-August.
Increased cryptocurrency flow to exchanges often raises the likelihood of selling pressure. Nevertheless, market observers emphasize that not all this volume necessarily translates into sell orders. A portion of these assets can be utilized for providing liquidity in futures markets, or for internal balance management by platforms.
Industry experts caution, “Not every XRP entering exchanges is recorded as a sell order, as some may be retained for liquidity purposes in derivative markets.”
Significant On-Chain Transfer Recorded
On October 20th, a large-scale transaction occurred on the network. A wallet, which had amassed 300 million XRP at the end of 2025 at an approximate cost of $2 per XRP, transferred 82.3 million XRP to a new address. This considerable transaction equated to a value between $106 million and $107 million.
Although the source wallet retains more than 140 million XRP, the absence of any association between the new address and exchanges, coupled with the subsequent inactivity, suggests that this movement is possibly more related to internal portfolio balancing rather than a prelude to selling.
ETF Flows Sustain Demand Support
While individual investors remain cautious, demand driven by fund flows continues to bolster XRP. Net inflows into U.S. spot XRP ETFs have reached $1.8 billion. This accumulation forms a relatively distinct pricing floor, somewhat separated from short-term exchange transactions.
Although the current on-chain landscape alone does not determine the asset’s future direction, the surge in free liquidity on exchanges to multi-month highs suggests conditions are ripe for potentially ending the market’s lull.
