Large $XRP holders have been quietly adding to their positions, with on-chain data pointing to one of the more notable accumulation moves seen in recent weeks. According to analyst Ali Martinez, $XRP big holders have accumulated more than 380 million tokens over the past week, a level of conviction that stands out against a backdrop of subdued price action.

Whale Balances Jump to 8.13 Billion XRP

Santiment data shared by Martinez shows that whale holdings climbed from roughly 7.82 billion to over 8.13 billion XRP between August 7 and August 11, a gain of more than 300 million tokens in days. XRP whale accumulation has been strengthening as large holders continue purchasing the coin amid its recent price decline, suggesting growing confidence in a possible price reversal as XRP tests important support levels. The analyst described the buying as "an encouraging sign of conviction at current levels."

The reported accumulation lifted attention toward whether larger holders were rebuilding positions after months of weak price performance. That context matters: XRP has spent much of 2026 under consistent selling pressure, declining roughly 43% year-to-date and repeatedly testing the $1.00 to $1.04 support zone after peaking near multi-year highs in 2025.

$1.06 Is the Level to Watch

Martinez points to $1.06 as the key resistance to flip, citing roughly 3 billion XRP that changed hands around that price on-chain. A monthly close above $1.06 would target $1.35 and potentially $1.64 after that.

The 380 million XRP accumulation suggests some large holders are positioning ahead of that test, but whale buying alone does not guarantee a breakout. Until $1.06 is decisively reclaimed, the higher targets remain scenarios rather than confirmed price objectives.

The broader technical picture is also mixed. XRP trades below its 20-day and 50-day EMAs, with the MACD extending further below zero, pointing to persistent selling pressure. Martinez also highlighted that XRP's monthly chart has triggered a Tom DeMark Sequential buy signal, a pattern that preceded a 1,074% rally after an April 2020 signal and a 973% surge following an August 2022 signal, though a sell signal in April 2025 preceded a subsequent 57% drop. Historical performance of such signals is not a guarantee of future results.

As always, on-chain accumulation data shows a change in wallet balances but does not establish the holders' motivation or prove coordinated price support at any particular level.
