XRP may be one of the most-viewed cryptocurrencies on CoinGecko, yet its market price tells a different story. Digital Asset Investor (@digitalassetbuy) is calling attention to a striking disconnect. Ripple is valued at $50 billion, but the asset “is still trading like it’s 2018.” That gap, according to Digital Asset Investor, has not been priced in yet.
The $50 Billion Gap
The core argument is that Ripple’s valuation and XRP’s market price have diverged sharply. Digital Asset Investor cited the observation that “the market hasn’t priced in the gap yet,” adding his own view: “When it does, nobody is ready for this all-time high.”
He expects a massive repricing of the asset soon. Analyst Modern Investor has placed a $28 price target on XRP. Digital Asset Investor endorsed it, saying “I think it’s going to $28 a coin and some.”
September in Focus
The repricing thesis ties directly to regulatory clarity. In a clip Digital Asset Investor shared, a guest speaking to Paul Barron painted a scenario where clarity arrives in September or October. His estimate for XRP in that case: “50 to 100% upside.” Digital Asset Investor believes the upside runs considerably higher.
He noted that CFTC Chair Brian Quintenz has said the agency will advance crypto market structure regulation with or without the CLARITY Act passing Congress. Digital Asset Investor’s read is that a stalled bill could actually accelerate progress, with the SEC and CFTC moving on their own regulatory track.
Whales Move In
On-chain data adds weight to the repricing argument. According to Santiment data cited by Digital Asset Investor, XRP wallets holding at least 1 million tokens rose by 32 over the past three months. That accumulation happened while XRP’s market cap fell 29%.
Large holders grew their positions into weakness. The divergence between price action and whale behavior is the kind of signal he views as significant.
Privacy as the Institutional Trigger
Digital Asset Investor also covered XLS-96, a proposed XRP Ledger amendment currently up for validator voting. The feature, called Confidential Transfer of MPTs, encrypts balances and transfer amounts for issued assets.
Digital Asset Investor cited Brad Garlinghouse directly on this point, saying privacy “is what Brad Garlinghouse said would bring these institutions in finally.” Evernorth echoed the view, calling privacy “a barrier to institutional engagement with public blockchains” and describing XLS-96 as “a meaningful step forward.”
