TLDR

  • XRP dropped to $1.0049, its lowest price since late 2024, marking a 69.4% drop this year.
  • XRP is about 73% below its July 2025 high of $3.65, when it came close to its $3.84 all-time high.
  • Weekly XRP ETF inflows fell to $14.86 million, down from over $100 million in late 2025.
  • Monthly active addresses on the XRP Ledger dropped 73% from their December 2024 peak.
  • Ripple’s lending protocol is stuck at 20% validator support, well short of the 80% needed to launch.

XRP has fallen to its lowest price in nearly two years. The token hit a low of $1.0049 on August 11, 2026, breaking through a support level it had held since late 2024.

The drop capped a weekly loss of about 7%. For the year, XRP is now down 69.4%.

The last time XRP traded this low was in the final quarter of 2024, right before it broke above $1 for the first time in years.

XRP’s decline looks even steeper next to its recent history. In July 2025, the token climbed to $3.65, coming within 5% of its all-time high of $3.84 from January 2018.

Since that July 2025 peak, XRP has lost about 73% of its value. The chart has looked weak for most of that stretch, with a bearish crossover forming in October 2025.

XRP now trades below both its 9-day and 21-day moving averages. Its Money Flow Index has dropped to 20.42, a level that points to money leaving the token rather than coming in.

ETF Demand and Network Use Slow Down

XRP ETF inflows have cooled off. Weekly inflows fell to $14.86 million, a sharp drop from the over $100 million per week seen in late 2025.

These funds hold about 978 million XRP combined. That is under 2% of the total coin supply.

Network activity has also slowed. Monthly active addresses on the XRP Ledger fell 9.4% recently and are down 73% from their December 2024 peak of 654.2K, now sitting at 175.1K.

Trading volume tells a similar story. Monthly volume is down 38.7% to $29.6 billion, and fees earned on the XRP Ledger dropped from $111,387 a year ago to about $10,000 now.

Stablecoin activity on the network has shrunk too. The market cap of stablecoins on the XRP Ledger fell 14.8% to $855.6 million.

Supply and Regulatory Hurdles Remain

XRP’s market cap sits at $65 billion. To reach its old high of $3.84, it would need to hit $242 billion, since the coin supply has nearly doubled from 34 billion in 2018 to 63 billion today.

Ripple’s lending protocol, built on standards called XLS-65 and XLS-66, could give holders a reason to lock coins away instead of selling them. But validator support for the upgrade has held near 20%, far under the 80% threshold needed for it to activate.

A security audit by Halborn in June found no critical flaws in the protocol. RippleX is offering up to $200,000 to anyone who finds one.

The CLARITY Act, which would give XRP a clearer legal status in the U.S., remains stalled in Congress. That delay has slowed institutional interest in the token.

Ripple did secure a full MiCA license from Luxembourg’s regulator in July 2026, along with an EU electronic money license. The company also holds a conditional U.S. national trust bank charter, though XRP’s price has still fallen 43% in 2026.
