Zebec Network has completed its automated buyback for the third quarter of 2026, purchasing 40,536,539 $ZBCN with roughly $100,000 in cash flow. @Zebec_HQ said the tokens have been removed from circulation.
Onchain data shows the purchased tokens have been set aside permanently and will no longer feed new token emissions. They are held in custody with @UpholdInc Institutional, which backs the process.
Where the buyback funds come from
The money used for repurchases comes solely from transactional income. That income is generated by consumer debit programs on @ZebecCards and by wage streaming on the Zebec Enterprise and Consumer SuperApp. No new token issuance is involved.
The approach is consistent with the program's design. According to crypto.news, the buyback uses revenue from payroll processing fees, card transaction volume and enterprise licensing contracts to buy ZBCN on the open market, and all transactions are publicly verifiable onchain.
Zebec says the program began in late 2023 alongside its card program. In a post on its own blog, the company said it intends to keep a regular cadence of buybacks funded by operating revenue through 2026.
Context: supply and quarterly size
The Q3 purchase is slightly smaller in token count than the prior quarter. Zebec's Q2 2026 buyback repurchased 48,494,463 ZBCN, worth about $105,000, based on a company update.
Supply dynamics have also changed this year. Token tracker TokenRadar reports that the final scheduled unlock took place in March 2026, with the full 100 billion maximum supply now released. Zebec's tokenomics page describes buybacks and the DAO's earlier decision to pause burns as separate mechanisms. The Zebec DAO expects to assess by the end of 2026 whether to reintroduce a burn alongside buybacks, according to the company's blog.
On the market side, $ZBCN is up 11% over the last 24 hours.
