South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, Upbit and Bithumb, have recorded remarkable trading volumes in some altcoins over the past 24 hours. Investor interest, particularly concentrated in South Korean won (KRW) trading pairs, has led to some lower market cap altcoins achieving volumes approaching, and in some cases surpassing, those of major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
When the data from the two exchanges are considered together, the highest trading volume was seen on Momentum (MMT). MMT reached approximately $39.7 million on Upbit and $6 million on Bithumb, generating a total trading volume of approximately $45.7 million.
XRP was also among the cryptocurrencies heavily traded by South Korean investors. The total 24-hour trading volume of XRP on Upbit and Bithumb was approximately $26.9 million.
