@21Shares has added two new physically backed Exchange Traded Products to its European lineup, listing a Zcash ($ZEC) ETP and an ether.fi ($ETHFI) ETP on Euronext Amsterdam and Euronext Paris. Both products carry a flat annual fee of 2.5% and are available through standard brokerage accounts, removing the need for investors to manage wallets or private keys.
Bridging crypto and traditional markets
The products eliminate the technical barriers of direct token ownership, such as setting up exchange accounts and handling personal custody. The underlying assets are held by established third-party custodians, letting investors trade $ZEC and $ETHFI as easily as conventional equities or ETFs.
Jasmin Muelhaupt, Director of Financial Product Development at 21Shares, said the firm wants to give European investors straightforward access to projects building useful technology, pointing to ether.fi's expansion into real-world use cases and Zcash's combination of a capped supply with optional privacy. "By bringing both onto traditional exchanges as ETPs, we are making it as simple to add these assets to a portfolio as buying any standard stock or fund," she said.
A growing market for regulated Zcash exposure
The Euronext listings arrive at a moment of broadening institutional interest in $ZEC. Regulated investment access to Zcash has expanded rapidly, with Grayscale launching a U.S.-listed Zcash product on NYSE Arca in August. 21Shares is now extending exchange-traded access in Europe through Euronext Paris and Amsterdam.
Zcash is built around optional transaction privacy through shielded transactions, while its maximum supply of 21 million coins gives the asset a scarcity structure that mirrors Bitcoin at the issuance level. For ether.fi, easier custody does not remove token volatility, protocol-specific risks, or ether.fi's dependence on maintaining activity across its expanding suite of products.
European crypto ETPs have already expanded well beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, and 21Shares' own catalogue already includes single-asset exposure across numerous networks and tokens. The two new listings add another step in that direction, giving European investors a regulated route into two assets with notably different investment cases: one tied to DeFi infrastructure, the other to privacy-focused monetary technology.
