Arc's Stablecoin Supply Surges Past $578 Million
@Arc's stablecoin supply is up 24% on the week, reaching nearly $578 million, a striking milestone for a network that has only been publicly live for weeks. According to @BSCNews, Arc has already climbed to the 18th largest chain by stablecoin market cap, surpassing established networks including @SuiNetwork and @SeiNetwork.
The network's backer, @Circle, is no small factor in that momentum. Circle launched Arc and opened it to the public on September 16, 2026.Unlike blockchains like Ethereum or Solana, Arc is a layer-1 network designed specifically to support stablecoin-based applications. Notably, while Arc is EVM-compatible and closely linked to Circle's USDC infrastructure, it is a standalone Layer 1 chain rather than an Ethereum Layer 2.
Circle deployed $649 million in USDC and $7 million in EURC on Arc at launch, backed by an ecosystem of over 100 participants that includes some of the biggest names in traditional finance.Founding validators include BlackRock, DTCC, Visa, Mastercard, Intercontinental Exchange, and Standard Chartered.
Built for Stablecoins, Backed by Institutional Weight
Arc went live as a Layer 1 network purpose-built for financial applications, with every transaction fee paid in USDC instead of a separate gas token. That design choice is meant to make costs predictable for institutions and developers who already operate in stablecoin terms.
Circle raised $222 million in the presale of ARC, the native token of its new blockchain, as the company looks to expand beyond its core business of issuing the USDC stablecoin. The raise gives Arc a fully diluted network valuation of $3 billion.
The rapid accumulation of stablecoin supply reflects the institutional gravity Circle brings to a launch. With Wall Street validators, a purpose-built USDC-native architecture, and a growing DeFi ecosystem taking shape on-chain, Arc's early traction is a signal that backers and builders alike are treating it as more than just another chain.
