Aave V4 has crossed $30 million in total deposits on Avalanche, a milestone that underscores growing appetite for decentralized lending infrastructure as tokenized real-world assets move toward active credit markets.
An RWA Hub Built for Institutions
The deposit milestone follows a September 16 announcement from Aave Labs outlining plans to launch a dedicated RWA Hub on Avalanche. The market will let institutions borrow against tokenized assets without selling their underlying positions. The hub will initially support USA₮, the dollar stablecoin issued by federally chartered Anchorage Digital Bank with operational and technical support from Tether.
The RWA Hub will run through the Aave V4 deployment already live on Avalanche, using the protocol's Hub and Spoke architecture to create specialized credit markets with their own collateral rules and risk parameters while remaining connected to Aave's broader liquidity network. In practical terms, institutional risk is contained within dedicated sub-markets rather than pooled into the main protocol.
USA₮ will serve as the inaugural borrowing asset, giving approved participants a dollar-denominated source of liquidity. Eligible collateral is expected to include tokenized Treasuries, private credit, and real estate, though a formal launch date has not yet been disclosed.
Avalanche as a Tokenization Hub
Aave V4 launched on Avalanche in July 2026, its first V4 deployment outside Ethereum. The total tokenized RWA market has climbed 40% since the start of 2026, moving above $51 billion, according to data cited in the announcement. Avalanche has positioned itself as a key destination for that growth. John Nahas, chief business officer at Ava Labs, said institutions adopting tokenized assets will need ways to borrow against their holdings and obtain liquidity, similar to how financial firms use collateral in traditional markets.
Aave ranks as the largest decentralized finance lending platform by total value locked, according to DeFiLlama. The Avalanche deployment is widely seen as a template for future V4 rollouts on other chains.
