Hedera’s native token HBAR may see its price slide toward 7.4 to 7.2 cents if it fails to maintain support near the 8 cent mark, according to market analyst Cilinix. In a recent analysis, Cilinix highlighted several factors suggesting the late-September recovery lacks the necessary market momentum and buying pressure to sustain current price levels.

Key support zone coming under pressure

The immediate focus for HBAR is the 8 cent support level. This zone aligns with several technical references, including the point of control for the previous month, a round-number price marker, and the developing yearly value-area low. On a technical basis, this area often acts as a springboard for rebounds.

However, Cilinix noted that trading activity paints a less optimistic picture. The analyst pointed to a declining cumulative volume delta (CVD), which measures the balance of buyer and seller activity. The CVD slipping alongside price suggests sellers are dominating and there is little evidence that buyers are stepping in to absorb the pressure. Funding rates recently turned negative and then positive again, but there was no meaningful price response, a pattern Cilinix described as bearish in the current environment.

“We don’t have any absorption,” Cilinix explained while reviewing HBAR’s trading flows. The lack of clear buying interest, even at established support, reduces the odds of a reversal in the short term, the analyst argued.

If the token can reclaim 8.1 cents following a move around 7.8 cents, and if trading flows and fundamentals improve, HBAR could eventually stabilize and attempt a new upward move. However, Cilinix continues to see this as a less likely scenario for now.

Market concerns and broader risks

Hedera is an enterprise-grade blockchain platform designed to deliver fast, fair, and secure decentralized applications. Despite its technical foundation, several fundamental metrics have faced headwinds recently. Cilinix reported shrinking total value locked (TVL), falling stablecoin market capitalization, and declining fees.

Broader market trends also appear unfavorable. The analyst referenced factors such as ongoing geopolitical tensions, rising oil prices, heightened volatility, and weakness in equity markets, all contributing to a more cautious outlook for crypto assets like HBAR.

A loss of the 8 cent support area would likely return HBAR to the lower trading range it occupied in August and September, exposing it to further declines. According to Cilinix, if this scenario unfolds, the next major support is expected near 7.4–7.2 cents.

Key Level Status Implication 8.1 cents Potential reclaim target Could trigger rebound 8 cents Immediate support Critical for maintaining current range 7.8 cents Watch zone Reaction area for next move 7.4–7.2 cents Lower support Next zone if breakdown occurs

Cilinix concluded that, in light of weak market flows and ongoing fundamental concerns, the risks of a further decline outweigh immediate upside prospects for Hedera’s HBAR token.

Mini dictionary: Cumulative Volume Delta (CVD), a technical metric tracking the net difference between buying and selling volume over time. A falling CVD often signals dominance by sellers, while a rising CVD suggests increased buying interest.
