Arbitrum has recorded 18,033 developer commits over the past 30 days, according to data from @chainspect_app. That puts @arbitrum ahead of every other chain tracked, including @Ethereum, @Cardano, @SuiNetwork and @Avax, as activity around the $ARB ecosystem builds into the fourth quarter of 2026.

What the commit data shows

Developer commits are a widely used proxy for how actively a network's core code is being built and maintained. They do not measure code quality or user adoption, and a high count can reflect many small updates rather than major releases. Even so, sustained volume is often read as a sign of ongoing investment in a protocol.

The latest figure is higher than a reading reported earlier this autumn. CoinMarketCap, citing Chainspect, noted that Arbitrum logged 14,036 commits to its protocol repositories in the previous month, well ahead of Cardano at 4,023 and Sui at 2,746. It linked part of that activity to the development of Robinhood Chain, which is built on Arbitrum technology.

On a cumulative basis, Chainspect's chain page lists more than 214,000 commits and about 2,468 developers for Arbitrum since launch. Chainspect's comparison pages also show Arbitrum with roughly 2.5 times the all-time commits of Avalanche.

Ecosystem context for ARB

Arbitrum is an Ethereum layer 2 network that launched in 2021. The Arbitrum Foundation's H1 2026 progress report said its Builder's Block developer newsletter published 12 editions in the first half of the year and passed 10,000 subscribers. The report also said the Foundation's 250M ARB Strategic Partnerships Budget, approved by the ArbitrumDAO in October 2024, supports milestone-based partnerships across RWAs, fintech, Arbitrum chains and DeFi.

The same report noted that 92.3% of ARB supply was already unlocked as of August 17, 2026, with the schedule due to finish in March 2027. Developer activity does not by itself determine token performance, and supply dynamics remain a separate factor for $ARB holders to weigh.

Commit counts can also vary depending on which repositories a data provider tracks and how it filters bot or automated activity, so rankings may differ across platforms. Chainspect's methodology is the basis for the figures cited here.
