Arc Mainnet Launch Gains Support From Global Financial Firms

Circle has revealed the founding validator cohort for Arc, its blockchain network built for global financial markets, ahead of the Arc Mainnet launch confirmed for September 16, 2026.

The announcement, published August 5, 2026, comes according toArc's official. Circle describes Arc as an enterprise-grade blockchain designed to become the "Economic OS for the internet," and this is one of the clearest signals yet of institutional buy-in for that goal, with major banks, payment networks, and market infrastructure providers all lining up to secure the chain themselves.

What's Happening: Arc's Founding Validators

It is currently running in private mainnet, with more than 100 ecosystem and institutional builders already active on it ahead of the full Arc mainnet launch. Alongside Circle itself, the founding validator cohort includes:

Why This Matters: A Network Secured by Its Own Users

This validator lineup represents a different approach to on-chain infrastructure—a network secured by the same institutions building on top of it, rather than by anonymous or purely crypto-native validators.

That structure is meant to meet the trust, security, and compliance standards that critical financial market infrastructure typically demands, something few blockchain networks have managed to combine with open, permissionless innovation until now.

Institutional Integrations Taking Shape

Beyond validating the network, several founding members are already building specific use cases on top:

  • BUIDL on Arc: BlackRock's USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund is expected to deploy, using the network's native USDC integration to let institutional investors subscribe, redeem, and deploy fund assets within one on-chain environment.

  • DTCC tokenization: DTCC-custodied assets are set to be tokenized on Arc's starting in the second half of 2027, part of a broader multi-chain strategy for faster settlement and greater asset mobility.

  • BNY and Standard Chartered are also exploring integrations spanning tokenized asset settlement, digital asset custody, stablecoin access, and FX and repo infrastructure.

The Broader Ecosystem Joining Arc

Arc's day-one ecosystem extends well past its validators, spanning DeFi, payments, and custody and its accompaniments.

  • DeFi protocols and capital allocators: Aave, Aerodrome, FalconX, Galaxy, GSR, Keyrock, Morpho, Nonco, Uniswap, and XFX

  • Stablecoin payment providers: Rain, Thunes, and Wirex, covering card settlement and cross-border payment flows

  • Exchanges and wallet providers: Binance Wallet, Chainlink, Fireblocks, Kraken, Ledger, MetaMask, Uniswap Labs, and Upbit

Between the validator cohort and this ecosystem list, it is shaping up to launch with institutional-grade infrastructure and permissionless DeFi activity sitting side by side on the same network.

What's Next: The September 16 Launch

At launch, Circle plans to unveil a broader product suite built around Arc, including a composable app framework for common onchain workflows, AI-powered development tools, features to help asset issuers deploy and manage tokenized real-world assets, and interfaces designed to help developers, users, and AI agents navigate the ecosystem.

Arcs is an open Layer-1 blockchain operated by a permissioned validator set; it has not been reviewed or approved by the New York State Department of Financial Services or any other regulator, and gas on the network is payable in USDC.

Other Mainnet Launches to Watch

While the Arc Mainnet launch is just days away, the broader crypto market is also preparing for several major blockchain upgrades. These upcoming launches highlight growing momentum around institutional adoption, DeFi expansion, and next-generation blockchain infrastructure.

Zcash and GXT Also Prepare for Mainnet Milestones

Alongside, Zcash is moving toward its upcoming NU7 network upgrade, with the community set to vote on the proposal starting August 25. Meanwhile, GXT Exchange is also gearing up for its mainnet launch on 28 August, aiming to expand its blockchain ecosystem and attract more users. Together, these developments make the coming weeks an important period for the crypto industry.

Conclusion

With a founding validator list spanning major banks, payment networks, and market infrastructure providers, the Arc Mainnet launch is positioning the network as institutional-grade blockchain infrastructure rather than a purely crypto-native chain.

Whether that translates into real usage will become clearer once the network goes fully live on September 16.
