XRP, one of the largest altcoins, has experienced significant declines from its peak, but Ripple aims to solidify its leading position in the blockchain ecosystem.
At this point, Ripple is expanding its corporate digital asset services by forging new partnerships to continue its global growth.
Accordingly, Ripple has partnered with Aviva Investors, the investment management arm of insurance giant Aviva. As part of this partnership, Aviva Investors will tokenize a portion of its £22 billion asset-managing Sterling Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger.
This move will be Aviva’s second tokenized fund initiative. With this £50 million investment in the new class, the company’s total investment in its two tokenized money market funds has exceeded £86 million.
The Ireland-based fund, subject to the UCITS regulatory framework, invests in high-quality, short-term sterling-denominated debt instruments. Founded in 2002, the fund aims to provide daily liquidity and target relatively low-risk returns. However, the tokenization process does not mean that the entire fund will be transferred to the blockchain.
AAviva Investors CEO Mark Versey stated that tokenized funds can increase efficiency and improve investor outcomes. The company will continue to use BNY Mellon as its Ripple agent. Investors with eligible digital wallets can access the tokenized shares.
