Billionaire predicts 'unhinged' future for iPhone Duo

Last week, Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) released its first foldable smartphone, iPhone Duo. The smartphone's 7.6-inch inner display, when unfolded, is its most talked about feature.

In fact, it's the largest display in any iPhone so far and billionaire entrepreneur Changpeng Zhaothinks many iPhones will be "unhinged" by "crypto trenchers."

Exclusive: Binance CMO says crypto will be “omnipresent” (4:27)

Zhao says Duo is 'pretty good for charting'

Zhao is the cofounder of Binance, the world's largest crypto trading exchange. In June, the company said the total number of registered Binance users worldwide has exceeded 300 million.

While trading of nearly all the assets, including equities, commodities, government bonds, etc., can take place on smartphones now, crypto trading was born in an age when these mobile devices were reaching the hands of common people.

But trading on a smartphone is not the smoothest experience and the most challenging part is looking at long-term price charts on a narrow screen.

It's not uncommon for serious crypto traders to keep two or three computer screens open at the same time.

There is the asset's price chart, the latest market news, a rival asset's performance to compare, and so much more to look at when placing an order. A smartphone is just not built to accommodate these demands.

But Zhao thinks the iPhone Duo will be widely used by crypto traders who will go "unhinged."

The smartphone's 7.6-inch display can offer a convenient way to look at the long-term price chart of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), XRP, etc.

While the iPhone Duo can't replace a multi-display computer system that crypto traders are so fond of, the smartphone is certainly handy for traders on the move.

In fact, Zhao last month shared a screenshot of the device showing a BNB/USDT trading pair on the Binance exchange and said the "Duo is pretty good for charting."

The iPhone Duo (256GB) costs $1,999 in the U.S. With Bitcoin currently trading at $80,600, an American crypto trader will have to let goof 0.025 BTC to purchase a Duo.
