Key Insights

  • Binance Hack recovery expanded as Solana, XRP, Arbitrum, and Tron withdrawals resumed.
  • Binance said it replenished 95% of affected assets using company resources.
  • The FBI attributed the $6.3 billion crypto theft to North Korean hackers.

The Binance Hack recovery advanced on Nov. 1 as the exchange restored withdrawals across several major blockchain networks. The latest reopening covered Solana, XRP, Arbitrum, and Tron following the $6.3 billion crypto hack.

Binance confirmed the phased restoration through successive X updates on Sunday. The exchange also reported that it had replenished approximately 95% of the affected assets following the Oct. 29 attack.

However, withdrawal services had not returned across every supported network. The exchange continued conducting security checks before reopening additional assets and networks.

Binance Hack Update: SOL, XRP, and Other Withdrawals Resume

Binance announced the reopening of Arbitrum and Tron withdrawals on Nov. 1. The Arbitrum restoration covered ARB, Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), and USDC.

Meanwhile, Tron users regained access to TRX and USDT withdrawals. A subsequent Binance X update confirmed Solana withdrawals for SOL, USDT, and USDC.

These additions followed earlier restorations covering Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, XRP, Dogecoin, Base, and Optimism. The exchange progressively expanded access rather than reopening every network simultaneously.

The Binance Hack recovery also followed an earlier announcement outlining its withdrawal schedule. Binance initially targeted a reopening window between 06:00 and 09:00 UTC on Nov. 1. It prioritized networks using withdrawal demand recorded during the preceding week.

The company also listed Zcash, Toncoin, Polygon, Avalanche, and Sui among its planned first-phase networks. However, inclusion in that schedule did not independently confirm the availability of live withdrawals.

Binance warned that heavy traffic could delay transactions during the reopening. Users may still encounter unsuccessful attempts even after their selected networks resume.

The Binance Hack consequently remained an operational concern despite the latest restorations. The exchange directed customers to its network status page for asset-specific availability.

Binance Hack Recovery Reaches 95% as Exchange Replenishes Assets

Binance confirmed on Nov. 1 that it had replenished approximately 95% of affected assets. That figure increased from 90% in its Oct. 31 recovery update.

The exchange said Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, BNB, Solana, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD, and Zcash had full backing.

The Binance Hack left approximately 5% of affected assets awaiting replenishment, based on company disclosures. Binance attributed the remaining purchases to lower liquidity among tokens outside its ten listed assets.

Earlier, the exchange disclosed allocating over $6.34 billion in company funds to cover losses. Its Oct. 30 statement reported approximately $3 billion in frozen assets linked to the attack.

Binance identified its Secure Asset Fund for Users, corporate treasury, and futures insurance fund as replenishment resources. The exchange maintained that customers would not bear the financial impact of the stolen funds.

However, the Binance Hack recovery figures represented the exchange’s own accounting disclosures. Asset replenishment and frozen stolen funds represented separate recovery measures. Binance also issued an updated proof-of-reserves snapshot dated Oct. 31. It expected full zero-knowledge proofs to become available on Nov. 3.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) attributed the Binance Hack to North Korean operatives on Oct. 31. The agency identified the activity as TraderTraitor and described the theft as exceeding $6 billion. It said attackers had converted stolen assets primarily into Ethereum.

Investigators also warned that the attackers could move funds through decentralized finance services and instant exchanges. Federal authorities urged cryptocurrency service providers to block transactions involving identified laundering addresses.

The Binance Hack began around 20:05 UTC on Oct. 29, according to the exchange. Binance said attackers compromised its hot wallets and transferred approximately $6.3 billion in cryptocurrency.

The incident represented a cryptocurrency theft rather than a conventional crypto scam targeting individual users. Binance suspended withdrawals while investigating the intrusion and assessing its infrastructure.

For customers, the immediate concern remained withdrawal accessibility across individual networks. The exchange said it would publish a detailed incident report after completing its investigation.

Binance Hack recovery efforts therefore continued alongside the federal investigation. Binance had restored several major networks, but its broader withdrawal rollout remained incomplete.
