BlockchainReporter and CryptoBriefing both cover the October 30 Bitcoin ETF outflows following the Binance hack, but report different total figures and disagree on whether BlackRock's IBIT had even reported a number.

What all sources agree on

  • Fidelity's FBTC shed approximately $201 million on October 30.
  • The outflows ended a four-day inflow streak running from October 26 to October 29.
  • Cumulative net inflows into US spot Bitcoin ETFs since launch stand at approximately $57 billion.
  • The outflows followed a Binance security incident reported around October 29 involving approximately $6.3 billion.

Where the reports disagree

1Total net outflow figure for October 30

US spot Bitcoin ETFs had $409.5 million in net outflows on October 30, with IBIT's figure not yet reported.

BlockchainReporter 2026-10-31 04:42

US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $643 million in net outflows on October 30, with IBIT contributing approximately $234 million.

CryptoBriefing 2026-10-31 05:46

What would settle it: Farside Investors' published daily ETF flow data for October 30.

2Whether BlackRock's IBIT had reported a flow figure, and its amount

BlackRock's IBIT, the fund that carried nearly all of the prior four days of buying, had not yet reported a figure for the session.

BlockchainReporter 2026-10-31 04:42

BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) was the largest single contributor to the Bitcoin outflow. It accounted for approximately $234 million of the total.

CryptoBriefing 2026-10-31 05:46

What would settle it: BlackRock's own fund flow disclosure or Farside Investors' updated table showing IBIT's October 30 line.

What to make of it

Treat Fidelity's roughly $201 million FBTC outflow and the end of the four-day inflow streak as established; the overall size of the October 30 outflow and IBIT's role in it remain unsettled until Farside Investors or BlackRock publish a reconciled figure.

Coinfomania and crypto.news both back the $643M figure and, resolving the dispute over whether IBIT had reported a number, now credit BlackRock’s IBIT with the largest single-day outflow at roughly $234M. Crypto.news adds that this was Bitcoin ETFs’ biggest daily outflow since June, erasing four straight days of inflows and leaving the Oct. 26-30 week net negative at $202.4 million, with Fidelity and ARK 21Shares also among the top outflow contributors. Coinfomania further reports that Ethereum ETFs lost $156 million the same day.

CryptoSlate backs the $643 million figure and adds that the single-day outflow wiped out four straight days of inflows, turning October 26–30 into a net weekly outflow of about $202 million. It also details the breakdown across funds: five of the 12 ETFs saw withdrawals on October 30, seven recorded zero flows, and none logged inflows that day.

Bitcoin.com News and Bitcoinist both back the $643 million figure, with Bitcoinist adding that these outflows erased four days of gains and pushed October into negative territory overall. Bitcoinist also resolves the IBIT dispute, reporting that BlackRock’s fund actually led Friday’s withdrawals yet still closed the month with $932.1 million in net inflows. Additionally, Bitcoinist notes that combined Bitcoin and Ether ETF outflows approached $799 million for the session, indicating Ether funds faced selling pressure too.
