U.S. spot Bitcoin(BTC) ETFs drew about $770 million in net inflows from Sep. 1 through Sep. 4, giving September a strong start even as Bitcoin slipped below $80,000.

Key Points:

  • Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded about $769.9 million in net inflows over the first four trading days of September.
  • Sep. 3 produced $730.8 million in inflows, the strongest single-day total since Jan. 14, led by BlackRock’s IBIT.
  • Bitcoin later fell to $79,622.23, leaving $80,000 as a key level while ETF demand remained positive.

Bitcoin ETF Flows

Data showed spot Bitcoin ETFs starting September with about $236.5 million in net outflows on Sep. 1 before reversing to $101 million of inflows a day later. The shift accelerated on Sep. 3.

Funds recorded $730.8 million in net inflows that day, the strongest session since Jan. 14, with BlackRock’s IBIT taking about $454 million. ARK 21Shares’ ARKB followed with roughly $137.7 million. Fidelity’s FBTC added $74.4 million.

Another $174.6 million entered the funds on Sep. 4, bringing four-day net inflows to about $769.9 million despite the opening-day withdrawal and contrasting with Bitcoin’s historical September weakness.

Crypto Rate Outlook

The surge in ETF demand came alongside changing expectations for U.S. monetary policy after Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller spoke on Sep. 3. “I would be inclined to support holding the target for the federal funds rate at its current setting,” Waller said.

Bitcoin rose during the same period but failed to hold above $80,000, trading at $79,622.23 at press time after a 2.1% daily drop as RSI stayed above neutral and Bollinger Bands widened.

ETF demand also extended beyond Bitcoin. Spot Ethereum(ETH) ETFs logged $8.6 million of net inflows on Sep. 1 before posting $48.2 million of net outflows on Sep. 2. They then drew $141.4 million on Sep. 3 and another $25.9 million on Sep. 4, according to Farside Investors.

Solana(SOL) ETFs showed more mixed flows over the same period. The broader pattern suggests crypto ETF demand strengthened as September began, even without a sustained breakout in underlying token prices.

Bitcoin has also spent relatively little time above $70,000. MSB Intel data showed only 12.7% of 4,364 recorded daily closes above that level, underscoring how unusual the current price range remains.
