Key Insights

  • Bitcoin price faced renewed pressure near $80,000 as analysts identified $78,000–$79,000 liquidity support.
  • Crypto Tony outlined a potential recovery toward $82,000, while Ted favored testing lower liquidity first.
  • CoinGlass reported $53.56 billion in futures open interest and $26.49 billion in daily derivatives volume.

Bitcoin price faced renewed selling pressure near $80,000 as traders monitored liquidity concentrations on both sides of the market. Analysts identified $78,000–$79,000 as an important support area, while $82,000 emerged as a possible rebound target.

OKX historical data showed Bitcoin trading at around $80,575 on Oct. 25. The latest weakness followed several sessions of price declines after BTC traded above $84,000 earlier in the week.

Bitcoin Price Faces $78K Support Test Amid Weak Spot Demand

Renowned crypto analyst Ted Pillows posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Bitcoin has over $80 million in buy orders between $78,000 and $79,000. He suggested that traders could test this liquidity concentration if selling pressure continued.

Ted explained that buy orders around $80,000 had previously triggered a temporary rebound. However, the recovery failed to attract sufficient spot demand to sustain upward momentum.

The Bitcoin price subsequently remained vulnerable to another decline as buyers struggled to regain control. His assessment suggested that visible bids might provide temporary support without necessarily establishing a durable bottom.

In another market update, Ted identified two major liquidity concentrations around $79,000 and $81,500. He favored a move toward the lower concentration first, citing sellers’ prevailing momentum.

These figures reflected the analyst’s order-book observations rather than independently verified exchange-wide liquidity. Visible orders can also disappear before execution, limiting their reliability as support indicators.

Bitcoin Price Eyes $82K as Traders Assess Rebound Potential

Crypto analyst Crypto Tony outlined a different short-term scenario. He wanted Bitcoin to climb toward $82,000 and reach the liquidity positioned above the market.

Such a move could trigger short-position liquidations or attract momentum buyers. However, a temporary rally toward resistance would not, on its own, confirm a bullish trend reversal.

The Bitcoin price would have to sustain demand above nearby resistance to strengthen the recovery scenario. Failure around $81,500–$82,000 could instead expose the market to renewed selling.

Meanwhile, CoinGlass derivatives data showed Bitcoin futures open interest near $53.56 billion during the review. The platform also recorded approximately $26.49 billion in 24-hour futures trading volume.

These figures highlighted continued derivatives activity despite uncertainty around the next directional move. Open interest measures outstanding futures positions, not a direct bullish or bearish trading signal.

The BTC price therefore faced competing liquidity scenarios as traders assessed support and resistance. Neither cluster guaranteed a particular outcome without confirmation from subsequent price activity.

Analysts Identify Deeper Buying Zones Between $75K and $68K

Crypto analyst Merlijn The Trader outlined a broader accumulation strategy during the market weakness. He identified $78,200–$75,900 as his preferred buying range and $67,900 as a deeper order level.

Merlijn also identified $88,000 as an initial upside target if the market recovered. His approach favored waiting for lower entries rather than pursuing short-term rebounds.

For the Bitcoin price, the proposed accumulation range implied further downside before a stronger recovery could develop. However, those levels represented a personal trading strategy rather than confirmed institutional demand.

Technical analyst Crypto Patel offered a longer-term interpretation, identifying $41,000–$56,000 as a major accumulation area. He argued that a deeper correction would not automatically invalidate Bitcoin’s broader bullish structure.

His long-term targets extended from $126,000 to $300,000, $600,000, and eventually $1 million. These projections remained highly speculative and relied on assumptions that extended beyond current market conditions.

The price of bitcoin would require substantial sustained appreciation to approach those targets. Near-term order-book activity provided no direct evidence supporting such an extended rally.

Bitcoin Dominance Could Add Pressure to Altcoins

Tranquility Crypto raised another concern involving Bitcoin’s share of total cryptocurrency market capitalization. The analyst identified an approaching resistance area on the Bitcoin dominance chart.

A breakout could favor Bitcoin over competing cryptocurrencies, potentially increasing relative pressure on altcoins. Conversely, rejection at resistance could support temporary rebounds across alternative digital assets.

The Bitcoin price remained central to this assessment because market direction and dominance measure different conditions. Bitcoin crypto can gain market share even while its dollar price declines.

For now, traders face competing scenarios around $79,000 support and $82,000 resistance. A sustained breakdown could bring Merlijn’s lower buying zones into focus, while a recovery could challenge nearby overhead liquidity.
