Renowned market analyst Benjamin Cowen shared his insights on Bitcoin‘s trajectory towards the end of 2026. As Bitcoin tests significant technical levels around $83,000, Cowen emphasizes the importance of reacting to the current structure of the price chart rather than attempting to predict directional movements.

Impact of Weekly Performance?

Cowen explains that the essential reason for this updated approach is Bitcoin’s ability to surpass its May peak on the weekly timeframe, disrupting the traditional four-year cycle pattern. He sees the weekly candle’s closure as the main trigger, which will dictate the asset’s direction for the rest of the year.

Benjamin Cowen notes, “In present circumstances, it is crucial to respond based on the chart’s signal rather than preemptively guessing the price’s destination.”

Known for his technical and cyclical analyses in the cryptocurrency realm, Cowen highlights that the future will depend heavily on whether the current model can maintain its level. His analysis suggests a shift from predictive strategies to reactive strategies given the market conditions.

What are the Possible Outcomes?

In an optimistic scenario, Bitcoin would need to close the week above its May peak and stay beyond that level. Cowen believes such a scenario could significantly strengthen buyers’ confidence and lay the groundwork for a bullish trend extending through the fourth quarter.

Conversely, should the price fall back below the May high, it would be seen as a significant false breakout. This scenario suggests a potential seasonal correction by year-end. However, Cowen argues this pullback may not necessarily indicate new cycle lows.

The analyst highlights, “Trying to pre-determine a definitive direction can be inefficient in this setup, while a reaction-focused approach appears more suitable.”

Strategic Approach for H2 2026

Cowen recommends employing a gradual buying technique as a defensive strategy for the latter half of the year. This approach is aimed at building long-term positions during periods of heightened volatility.

Key considerations based on Cowen’s insights include:

  • Weekly closures are critical to deciding Bitcoin’s year-end trajectory.
  • Two main scenarios are possible: a continuation above the May peak or a retreat, possibly leading to a year-end correction.
  • A reaction-focused investment strategy may be more effective given current market conditions.

Despite potential short-term fluctuations in October or November, Cowen remains optimistic about Bitcoin maintaining a constructive macro trend. He suggests that the outlook for robust performance now extends into early 2027.
