  • Bitdeer is deploying an additional roughly 7 MW of mining equipment at Soluna’s Project Kati 1 in South Texas, bringing its total deployment there to 35 MW
  • The expansion adds approximately 2.42 exahashes per second of hashrate and is expected to be completed by November 2026
  • The added capacity fully subscribes the K1BC phase of Project Kati 1, an 83 MW wind-powered data center, under Soluna and Bitdeer’s co-mining structure

Soluna Holdings disclosed in an exhibit filed with the SEC on September 28, 2026 that Bitdeer is expanding its mining deployment at Soluna’s Project Kati 1 site in South Texas from an earlier 28 MW agreement to 35 MW, adding roughly 7 MW of additional mining equipment. The expansion is expected to add approximately 2.42 exahashes per second of hashrate and to be completed by November 2026.

The added capacity fully subscribes the K1BC phase of Project Kati 1, an 83 MW wind-powered data center facility. Under the co-mining structure between the two companies, Soluna provides the site, power, and turnkey operations, while Bitdeer provides and owns its Sealminer A2 Pro Air mining equipment, with the two companies sharing in the resulting mining proceeds.

“We entered our first co-mining agreement with Bitdeer in August, and we are expanding it before that deployment is even finished,” Soluna CEO John Belizaire said in the filing, framing the expansion as evidence of how quickly the original 28 MW arrangement filled available capacity at the site.

Co-mining arrangements like this one let infrastructure operators such as Soluna monetize power and site capacity without owning mining hardware directly, while equipment owners like Bitdeer gain access to already-built, already-powered sites without having to develop them from scratch. The structure has become an increasingly common way for both sides to scale bitcoin mining capacity faster than either could manage independently.

Project Kati 1 is one of several sites in Soluna’s broader development pipeline aimed at pairing renewable power generation with flexible, curtailable computing loads such as bitcoin mining and, increasingly, AI data center capacity. The speed at which this second expansion followed the first agreement suggests demand for deployable mining capacity at wind-powered sites remains strong heading into the fourth quarter of 2026.

Pairing wind power with bitcoin mining has become a widely used approach for developers seeking to monetize intermittent renewable generation that would otherwise be curtailed or sold at low prices during periods of oversupply, since mining loads can ramp up or down quickly to absorb whatever power happens to be available without requiring the grid-scale storage that other flexible-demand applications typically need.
