BitMine says it bought 10,399 ETH last week and is maintaining its BMNR share buyback program, pairing continued Ethereum treasury accumulation with an existing capital-return policy for shareholders.

BitMine Announces a 10,399 ETH Purchase

BitMine disclosed the acquisition of 10,399 ETH, framing the move as an addition to its Ethereum treasury rather than a broader crypto basket, according to a Form 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The purchase continues a pattern of steady accumulation for the company, which has previously added thousands of ETH to its holdings in earlier disclosures. For related coverage, see ARK Invest Sold Crypto-Related Stocks, Including Bitmine, on July 29.

The company’s ETH treasury has grown substantially over recent reporting periods, reaching 5.8 million tokens alongside total crypto and cash holdings of $11.3 billion, as detailed in a separate company announcement. That scale is consistent with the pace seen when BitMine added more than 42,000 ETH in a single week.

Why BitMine Is Keeping the BMNR Share Buyback Program in Place

Alongside the ETH disclosure, BitMine said it is maintaining its BMNR share buyback program, keeping an existing shareholder-return mechanism active as it continues to accumulate Ethereum.

The decision to preserve the buyback, reported by CoinDesk, signals continuity in capital allocation rather than a new program with different terms. The move ties the update to BMNR equity holders directly, not only to the company’s crypto treasury management.

What the Dual Move Signals About BitMine’s Capital Strategy

Running a treasury purchase and an active buyback at the same time reflects a dual capital strategy: expanding Ethereum exposure through the 10,399 ETH addition while committing capital to repurchasing BMNR stock.

The juxtaposition is the clearest strategic read supported by the disclosure. It points to BitMine using available capital both to grow its digital-asset balance sheet and to support shareholders, without the filing providing forward guidance on future prices or performance.

BitMine’s equity has drawn institutional interest, including from ARK Invest, which has bought additional BitMine shares during periods of crypto market focus.
