BNB Chain Takes the Top Spot
BNB Chain (@BNBCHAIN) has climbed to the top of the decentralized exchange leaderboard, recording $19 billion in weekly trading volume and pulling ahead of Solana (@solana), Ethereum (@ethereum), and other major blockchain networks. The data, tracked via Dune Analytics, marks a notable shift in the on-chain trading landscape as competition for DEX dominance grows increasingly fierce.
The result reflects a broader dynamic playing out across major ecosystems. According to a 2026 DEX volume analysis by DEXTools, the competition now spans four main networks, with each chain attracting a distinct type of trader. BNB Chain has positioned itself as the go-to venue for retail-scale activity, driven by low transaction fees and high throughput. VanEck notes that BNB Chain operates at roughly 34 million monthly active users, with a median transaction fee of less than half a cent.
PancakeSwap Leads the Charge
PancakeSwap (@PancakeSwap) remained the dominant force within the BNB Chain ecosystem, accounting for the largest share of trading activity. According to DefiLlama, PancakeSwap currently holds $2.02 billion in total value locked, with BSC accounting for 96.5% of that figure across all chains the protocol operates on. Data from CoinMarketCap puts PancakeSwap's BNB Chain market share at around 82.91% in 2025, underlining just how central the protocol is to the network's volume story.
The platform's appeal rests on a straightforward proposition. Fees remain considerably cheaper than most Ethereum-based alternatives, making it a natural destination for retail traders. Memecoin activity has added a steady stream of speculative volume on top of that base.
The broader context is worth noting. The DEX volume race in 2026 has seen different chains trade the lead depending on the timeframe. Solana led for much of Q1 on the back of heavy memecoin flows, while Ethereum retains the largest overall total value locked in DeFi. BNB Chain's latest weekly figure, however, puts it firmly at the front of the pack on a volume basis for the period in question.
TLDR ETH trades near $1,905-$1,918, sitting almost exactly on its daily pivot point. A break above $1,967 could open a path toward $2,050-$2,117; a drop below $1,872 risks a slide to $1,840.
TLDR BNB trades near $575, staying under the $580–$585 resistance zone. Volatility, measured by ATR, has dropped to its lowest point in over a year. Analyst Umair Orakzai says BNB has failed
