Boerse Stuttgart Digital and Tradias have finalized their merger, creating a new digital asset infrastructure unit that brings together approximately 300 employees. The merger received the necessary ownership control approval, marking a significant step for both firms in the rapidly evolving European crypto sector.

Merger details and leadership

The agreement to merge was reached in February, with both companies aiming to consolidate their regulated crypto operations and strengthen their offerings for banks, brokers, and financial institutions throughout Europe.

The unified business will operate under the Boerse Stuttgart Digital brand. However, Tradias will continue to be used for trading services, ensuring brand continuity within the combined entity.

Headquartered in Frankfurt and Stuttgart, the enlarged unit will also maintain offices in Athens, Beirut, Berlin, Dubai, Madrid, Milan, and Ljubljana.

Christopher Beck, founder of Tradias, and Ulli Spankowski, managing director of Boerse Stuttgart Digital, will jointly lead the organization as co-CEOs. Both executives bring extensive experience in digital asset markets and institutional financial services.

Expanded services and client base

The newly formed unit will offer a wide range of services, including trading, custody, staking, and tokenization of digital assets. These solutions are designed to meet the growing demand from institutional clients seeking secure and regulated access to crypto markets.

Boerse Stuttgart Digital, part of Boerse Stuttgart Group—one of Germany’s largest stock exchanges—serves major institutional clients such as DZ Bank, DekaBank, Intesa Sanpaolo, and Société Générale-FORGE.

Tradias, which operates as an institutional crypto trading firm, works with clients including flatexDEGIRO, dwpbank, and various European government bodies. Tradias is recognized for facilitating trading and market-making in more than 150 cryptocurrencies and digital assets.

Financial terms of the merger were not made public.
