Two cat-themed memecoins have surged on Robinhood Chain, adding to a string of speculative tokens that have repeatedly overshadowed the network's original purpose as a venue for tokenized real-world assets.

Commander VRAX gained roughly 50% in 24 hours, while Super Cat posted an even sharper move of approximately 750% over the same period. According to CoinGecko data, Commander VRAX reached a market capitalization of around $26 million, while Super Cat stood near $20 million. Both tokens trade through decentralized markets on the chain.

A Meme Born From a Robinhood Keynote

Commander VRAX has an unusually direct connection to Robinhood's own marketing. During Robinhood's HOOD Summit on September 29, 2026, the company used a Starship-themed skit to present its products, with CEO Vlad Tenev playing the captain fighting a villainous alien civilization called "Vrax." After the event, the official Robinhood account posted: "Update on Commander Vrax: he's a cat now," turning the character into a cat. The post quickly spawned the $VRAX token on-chain. The token describes itself as the "Commander-in-Chief of Robinhood." Super Cat, meanwhile, markets itself as a partner to Super Inu, another token in the Robinhood Chain ecosystem.

It is worth noting that Robinhood did not launch or endorse either token. The company's official posts referenced the fictional character, not any specific token or contract.

Memecoins Keep Dominating a Chain Built for Stocks

Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain built on the Arbitrum stack, designed for tokenized real-world assets and 24/7 financial services, with its public mainnet launching on July 1, 2026. The chain's flagship product is Stock Tokens, on-chain instruments tracking equities such as Apple and NVIDIA that trade around the clock.

In practice, however, speculative tokens have driven much of the early activity. Robinhood Chain attracted about $312 million in total value locked and 3.6 million daily transactions, yet tokenized real-world assets accounted for only a fraction of that activity while memecoins dominated volume and market value. An earlier cat memecoin, CASHCAT, set the template, jumping more than 2,000% over seven days and reaching a market cap of around $156 million, according to CoinDesk.

Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev acknowledged the dynamic. As CASHCAT gained attention, Tenev posted: "While we're building Robinhood Chain to be the best chain for RWA, it works great for memes too." The latest moves by $VRAX and Super Cat suggest the pattern is continuing.
