@chainlink has switched on its Data Feeds and Data Streams on @StellarOrg, giving developers the market data needed to build lending markets, perpetual futures (perps) and stablecoins on the network. The launch targets an ecosystem that holds more than $4 billion in tokenized real-world assets (RWAs).
What Chainlink's launch adds to Stellar
The Stellar Development Foundation said developers can now use the market data to launch lending markets, prediction markets, perpetual futures and other onchain financial applications that connect Stellar's growing RWA ecosystem to DeFi.Leading ecosystem applications are adopting the infrastructure at launch for collateral processing, loan-to-value calculations, automated liquidations and stablecoin reference rates.
Oracles supply blockchains with external price information, which smart contracts cannot access on their own. Without reliable pricing, lending protocols cannot value collateral or trigger liquidations accurately. The foundation described enhancing asset utility as the next phase of the lifecycle after asset issuance.
Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, said Stellar's adoption of Chainlink as its data infrastructure unlocks a new generation of DeFi and tokenized asset applications across its ecosystem. The foundation also noted that builders gain access to the same oracle infrastructure that secures the vast majority of DeFi and has enabled tens of trillions of dollars in onchain transaction value.
Scale program commitment and the RWA backdrop
Stellar has made a capital commitment through the Chainlink Scale program to reduce data costs for its developers. The foundation said the launch delivers on its earlier Chainlink Scale announcement by giving developers access to enterprise-grade oracle infrastructure. That earlier announcement, in October 2025, covered Stellar's plan to bring Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), Data Feeds and Data Streams to its ecosystem.
The size of Stellar's RWA base varies by tracker. The Stellar Development Foundation puts the ecosystem at more than $4 billion.Bitbase, citing RWA.xyz data, reported about $3.54 billion in tokenized RWAs on Stellar and ranked the network fourth globally by RWA volume, behind Ethereum, BNB Chain and Solana. The assets include regulated products such as U.S. Treasury-backed tokens.
For developers, the practical change is that tokenized assets on Stellar can now be priced onchain in real time, a requirement for collateralised lending and derivatives. Adoption will depend on how many applications build on the feeds and how much liquidity follows.
