A lot of Bitcoin investors ask the same question after every major correction: If I put a relatively small amount into Bitcoin today and hold it for several years, what could it realistically become?
That is the question behind a recent projection generated with Claude AI. The model looked at Bitcoin’s current market setup and explored what a $3,000 investment today might be worth by 2031. The answer was not a guaranteed target. It was a range of possible outcomes based on different Bitcoin price scenarios.
Bitcoin’s Current Price and the Setup for 2031
The Bitcoin price is currently around $64,900, while the market has been unusually calm for a number of months now. We had a look at the daily Bitcoin chart, and the price range has been oscillating within the range of $60,000 – $66,000 following the sharp drop from the late-2025 high of $140,000.

Ali Charts pointed out that the monthly TD Sequential recently printed a rare “9” buy signal, the same signal that appeared near the 2022 bottom. Bitcoin is also trading close to a major long-term moving-average support zone, and momentum indicators are sitting near deeply oversold territory.
The Bitcoin on-chain data adds another interesting detail. On the chart shared by CoinTelegraph, wallets with between 10 BTC and 10,000 BTC saw their total holdings increase by 0.34% within a seven-day period, whereas the smallest wallets (retail) had reduced their holdings by 0.59%.

The Claude projection used historical Bitcoin cycle behavior, halving-driven supply reductions, adoption trends, and the idea of diminishing returns as Bitcoin becomes a larger asset class.
Source: Claude AiAs per the estimates from Ali, it appears that the next big cycle might end up giving an approximate return of +675% from the present macro bottom zone, which means that the price of Bitcoin could reach around $500,000 during the peak cycle in the future. The artificial intelligence model did not assume that this level will be achieved in 2031.
What $3,000 Could Become and Why This Could Be Wrong
At a BTC price near $64,900, a $3,000 investment buys roughly 0.046 BTC. If Bitcoin reaches $150,000 by 2031, that holding would be worth about $6,900, which is a gain of roughly 130%. If Bitcoin is priced at $250,000, the position will be worth approximately $11,500, which means that the returns will be about 280%. If the price moves even higher to reach $500,000, the position value will be approximately $23,000, giving an increase of 670%.
This is precisely why the AI projection indicated that the projected Bitcoin price could fall somewhere between $15,000 and $25,000 in 2031. It is crucial that this be kept in mind because Bitcoin is very volatile. A global recession, tightened monetary policies, negative regulation, or other competition could lower the future prices. The technical setup also has a clear warning level. If the BTC price falls decisively below the $60,000 support zone, the current macro-bottom thesis would weaken considerably.
Should You Take This Prediction Seriously?
The useful part of a projection like this is not the exact number. It assists investors in evaluating various possibilities and seeing the performance of the investment over the course of five years. There have been incredible returns in previous market cycles; however, those returns have diminished as the market has developed.
One way to see this is that Bitcoin still has potential upside if adoption continues, although the possibilities are quite large in scope. In summary, this is more of a scenario planning exercise rather than a forecast of how $3,000 would become $23,000 by 2031.
