Coinbase, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the temporary suspension of its derivatives trading platform, Coinbase Derivatives, due to scheduled maintenance. The interruption will occur on Saturday, October 24, 2026, starting at 5:00 AM Central Standard Time and is expected to last approximately nine hours, according to the Coinbase Markets schedule.

Impact on Traders During Maintenance Window

During the maintenance period, traders will be unable to execute trades on futures and perpetual futures products offered through Coinbase Financial Markets. However, account access will remain unaffected, allowing users to log into their accounts even though derivative trading will not be available.

Coinbase has advised its users to keep abreast of the latest updates via its status page and urged them to plan their trading activities accordingly. Known for its robust portfolio of spot, derivative, and institutional trading services, Coinbase is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges headquartered in the United States.

Coinbase Markets announced that due to scheduled maintenance starting October 24, 2026, derivatives trading on the Coinbase Derivatives platform will be unavailable for approximately nine hours.

Temporary Suspension and Asset Transfer Alerts

The maintenance announcement comes on the heels of Coinbase temporarily halting BLAST transactions. Users holding BLAST on the exchange have been instructed to transfer their assets before the BLAST network officially shuts down on October 26, 2026.

In tandem, Axis Robotics’ asset AXIS has been introduced to the Coinbase platform. Additionally, discussions for the potential listing of assets Pearl and Stable are progressing, as indicated by their inclusion on Coinbase’s roadmap. While not an immediate listing, this action demonstrates that these tokens are under evaluation.

Scheduled Suspensions for Select Assets

Following recent reviews, Coinbase disclosed its intention to suspend Neon EVM and Syndicate transactions from November 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM ET. This suspension will encompass multiple trading channels, including Coinbase Simple and Advanced Trade, Coinbase Exchange, and Coinbase Prime.

Correspondingly, trading for Balancer and Tensor will be paused on November 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM ET, while Stargate Finance and Vulcan Forged transactions are scheduled to halt on November 6, 2026, at the same time.

Advancements in Futures Trading and Listings

In October 2026, Coinbase introduced six new perpetual futures markets for stocks such as CRWV, ORCL, SOXS, DELL, PLTR, and SNXX, in collaboration with Deribit. Additionally, perpetual futures markets for PONS and CASHCAT have been made available to both individual and institutional users in select jurisdictions.

On the spot side, newly listed assets for October include Pons, Data, and Whuffie. These assets are now open for trading, conversion, transfer, receipt, and custodial services on the Coinbase platform and mobile application.

The company has launched new perpetual futures markets and issued trading suspensions and transfer alerts for specific tokens in October.
