Summary
- Cosmostation will discontinue its Wallet service, leaving users with recovery phrase and private key export access for asset migration purposes.
- Cosmostation’s infrastructure spans Mintscan, validator services, APIs, monitoring systems, and interoperability tools supporting dozens of blockchain networks and protocols.
- Users can recover blockchain assets through compatible wallets, while Cosmostation joins Leap Wallet among Cosmos-focused projects ending wallet operations entirely.
Cosmostation will shut down its multi-chain Wallet service on September 1, 2026, ending most functions across its supported applications. According to Crypto Briefing, the shutdown will affect Cosmostation’s iOS app, Android app, and Chrome browser extension.
Users will retain access to recovery phrase and private key exports once the service changes take effect. Other wallet functions will stop operating. Consequently, Cosmostation has urged users to securely back up their recovery information before the September deadline.
Importantly, the closure does not remove cryptocurrency holdings from their underlying blockchain networks. Users maintain control through their recovery credentials. They can import their recovery phrase or private key into another compatible wallet to regain access to their blockchain assets.
Cosmostation launched in 2018 and later expanded beyond wallet services into infrastructure supporting the Cosmos and broader interchain ecosystem. Its products include Mintscan, a blockchain explorer that provides network information across Cosmos and several other interchain networks.

Cosmostation Wallet Closure Leaves Blockchain Assets Accessible
By 2023, Cosmostation reported securing more than 60 chains built with the Cosmos SDK through its infrastructure and validator operations. Additionally, the company served as a genesis validator for more than 80 proof-of-stake blockchain networks.
Its infrastructure has supported over 50 protocols through APIs, monitoring systems, validator services, wallets, and tools for blockchain developers. Moreover, Cosmostation developed mobile and browser wallets alongside tools designed to support Inter-Blockchain Communication and wider blockchain interoperability.
Its interoperability work also extended to infrastructure connected with Axelar and Gravity Bridge. In 2024, Cosmostation open-sourced its Cosmos Hub Validator Monitoring Service to improve transparency around validator performance and network reliability.
Despite ending the Wallet service, Cosmostation plans to remain involved in blockchain infrastructure and the wider interchain ecosystem. Once the shutdown is complete, users will no longer have access to the existing Cosmostation Wallet applications.
Therefore, backing up recovery phrases and private keys remains essential for users planning to migrate their holdings elsewhere. Cosmostation’s decision also follows another notable wallet closure within the Cosmos ecosystem.
Leap Wallet ended all its services in May, becoming another Cosmos-focused project to withdraw wallet operations during difficult market conditions. Cosmostation’s September 1 shutdown will end its consumer wallet operations without removing assets stored across their respective blockchain networks. Users who securely preserve their recovery credentials can move to compatible wallets while Cosmostation shifts attention toward its broader infrastructure activities.
