The token is now down 14.04% over the past week, according to CoinMarketCap, after news broke that a major backer is walking away from its treasury plans with Cronos.

This Cronos Price Prediction breaks down what triggered today's drop, where CRO could head next, and whether the current oversold reading opens the door for a bounce.

Key Takeaways

  • CRO is trading at $0.046799, down 7.08% today and 14.04% over the past week. Market cap sits at $2.22 billion, down 12.2%, while 24-hour volume has spiked 482.31% to $18.6 million, per CoinMarketCap data.

  • Liquidation data from Coinglass shows the pain has landed almost entirely on longs, with $223.05K wiped out over the past 24 hours. RSI has fallen to 21.80, deep in oversold territory, which raises the odds of a short-term relief bounce even within the broader downtrend.

  • The trigger behind today's move is a fresh report that Trump Media is pulling back from its Cronos treasury plans with Crypto.com.

Why Is Cronos News Today So Bearish?

According to a post from The Block's official X account, Trump Media is pulling back from two deals with Crypto.com as its new leadership refocuses the company on Truth Social and its pending fusion-energy merger, per an Axios report cited in the post.Trump Media is pulling back from two deals with Crypto.com

The companies have reportedly terminated plans for a CRO treasury venture and scaled back a prediction-markets integration, choosing a marketing partnership instead.

This is a meaningful reversal from CRO's rally last year, when the original treasury announcement had been a major bullish catalyst.

Losing that treasury backing removes a demand source markets had priced in, which helps explain both today's sharp red candle and the surge in trading volume as positions get unwound.

Cronos Price Prediction: Technical Breakdown

$CRO has been in a clear downtrend since mid-May. A bearish crossover between the 20 and 50 EMA hit on May 17, 2026, and the price has made lower highs and lower lows ever since, based on the daily CRO/USD chart on TradingView.

$CRO attempted two separate reversal efforts this cycle. On July 2 and again on July 16, price pushed back above the EMA cluster, but neither attempt held.

$CRO failed to close above the EMAs on either occasion and slipped back beneath them shortly after, a pattern that has kept the broader trend firmly bearish.

Today's decline broke straight through the $0.053271 support and the $0.048570 level below it, landing CRO at a fresh cycle low near $0.046799.

If sellers stay in control, the next support sits at $0.039183, followed by $0.031148 further down.

On the upside, reclaiming $0.048570 would be the first sign of stabilizing, with $0.053271, $0.062707, and $0.067497 as the next resistance levels, and $0.073664 marking the May high.

RSI at 21.80 is well into oversold territory.

That doesn't guarantee a reversal, but oversold conditions this extreme often precede at least a short-term relief bounce before any larger trend decision plays out.

CRO Liquidation And Volume Snapshot

Coinglass data shows liquidations have been overwhelmingly one-sided today. Over the last hour, $837.33 was liquidated, entirely from longs. Over 4 hours, that number grew to $176.92K, again almost all long positions.Coinglass data shows liquidations

Across the last 24 hours, total liquidations reached $223.05K, with $223.03K coming from longs and just $16.10 from shorts.

That imbalance shows traders betting on a bounce have been the ones getting caught out.

Trading volume has surged alongside the drop, led by Bybit at $7.05M and OKX at $5.79M, according to Coinglass's futures volume heatmap, with CoinEx, MEXC, and BingX also seeing elevated activity.

CRO Price Prediction: Bear, Base, And Bull Scenarios

Scenario

Trigger

Price Targets

Bull

Reclaim and daily close above $0.048570, followed by a move through the EMA cluster

$0.053271, then $0.062707, then $0.067497

Base

Price stabilizes without a clean reclaim or breakdown

Range-bound between $0.039183 and $0.048570

Bear

Daily close below $0.046799 fails to hold, breakdown continues

$0.039183, then $0.031148

Methodology note: these levels come from prior swing highs and lows on the daily CRO/USD chart, sourced from TradingView.

The bull case would need a genuine close above the EMA cluster, not just an intraday wick, given that both July attempts failed at exactly that hurdle.

The bear case remains the primary trend as long as CRO trades below its EMAs.

Glossary: Key Terms In This Cronos Price Prediction

  • EMA (Exponential Moving Average): A moving average that weights recent price data more heavily, commonly used in pairs like the 20 and 50-day EMA to gauge short and medium-term trend direction.

  • Bearish Crossover:When a shorter-term EMA crosses below a longer-term EMA, often read as a signal that momentum has shifted downward.

  • RSI (Relative Strength Index): A momentum indicator ranging from 0 to 100 that flags overbought conditions above 70 and oversold conditions below 30.

  • Liquidation: The forced closure of a leveraged trading position by an exchange after losses erode a trader's margin.

  • Treasury Venture: A corporate strategy where a company holds a cryptocurrency as part of its balance sheet or reserves, often used as a long-term bullish signal for that asset.

Expert View

According to the CoinGabbar analyst desk, today's move in Cronos price prediction terms reflects a fundamentals-driven shock rather than a purely technical breakdown.

The loss of the Trump Media treasury plan removes a key bullish narrative that had supported CRO for months, and the failed reversal attempts in early and mid-July suggest sellers have controlled every meaningful bounce this cycle.

The RSI reading near 21.80 does leave room for a relief bounce, but that would likely be a short-term technical reaction rather than a trend reversal unless CRO can close convincingly back above its EMA cluster.
