Crypto Got a Lift as Core Inflation Eased, but Only Bitcoin Managed to Stay Up for the Week

Crypto markets moved higher as U.S. core inflation eased, with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and several altcoins posting early gains. But the move didn't last across the board. By the end of the week, Bitcoin was the only major cryptocurrency still trading above its earlier levels, while much of the broader market had turned lower.

Bitcoin's performance reflected a trend often seen during uncertain periods. Investors tend to return to assets they know best, and Bitcoin remains the largest and most established name in the industry. Its deeper liquidity and longer track record continue to make it the first choice for many traders looking to maintain exposure to crypto without taking on too much additional risk.

The gap between Bitcoin and the rest of the market also highlighted the difference in how investors approached risk this week. While improving inflation conditions helped bring buyers back, many traders appeared unwilling to increase their exposure to smaller tokens. Instead of broad participation across the market, the recovery remained concentrated in Bitcoin, suggesting that confidence has improved but not enough to fully extend into altcoins.

Altcoins followed Bitcoin higher at the start of the move but struggled to keep up as the week progressed. Several gave back their gains as buying interest faded, highlighting the more cautious tone that still exists beneath the surface of the market.

That doesn't mean Bitcoin is completely shielded from shifts in sentiment. It remains sensitive to broader economic developments and changing expectations. Even so, this week's price action showed that Bitcoin was better able to hold its position while much of the market moved in the opposite direction.

Crypto rarely moves in perfect sync, and this week was another example of that. Improving inflation conditions helped support the market for a time, but Bitcoin ultimately stood apart by being the only major cryptocurrency to stay up through the end of the week.

Kripto sempat menguat saat inflasi inti AS melandai, tetapi Hanya Bitcoin yang Bertahan Hingga Akhir Pekan.
