Trending with today’s top crypto news, Blockchain.com launched crypto options within its trading account. It’s offering new contracts to eligible consumer app users.
The company announced support for short-term market positions across seven cryptocurrencies, with upfront USDC funding and a defined maximum loss.
Blockchain.com, which serves retail and institutional users, introduced the product following its launch of perpetual futures trading earlier this year.
Crypto Options Launch Covers Seven Digital Assets
Under the initial offering, eligible customers can purchase calls and puts covering Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), and Solana (SOL). The supported assets also include Hyperliquid (HYPE), Avalanche (AVAX), XRP, and TRON (TRX), according to Blockchain.com’s announcement.

For these contracts, the company initially offers expiration periods extending up to one week. However, customers must hold their purchased crypto positions until settlement, rather than close them before then.
Regarding access, Blockchain.com limits the product to eligible users across the jurisdictions where it supports the new trading service. The company also subjects availability to applicable laws and regulatory requirements governing the service.
Alongside those conditions, the crypto news announcement outlined how traders fund their purchases through the platform. Customers pay upfront using USDC held within their Blockchain.com Trading Account, with live market prices displayed during trading.
Because the offering involves purchased contracts, customers do not trade these positions on margin. Consequently, their maximum potential loss equals the amount they pay upfront for the relevant option.
Crypto News: Crypto Options Trading Process Centers on Price and Timing
Within those parameters, crypto options allow customers to express a market view on both anticipated price direction and timing. Blockchain.com places that functionality within its consumer app, alongside its other trading account services.
To enter a position, customers first select an expiration date and the price they expect the underlying cryptocurrency to reach. They then enter the amount they want to trade. Afterward, customers review their proposed transaction before confirming the purchase within the consumer app.
Following those selections, Blockchain.com converts the customer’s stated market view into the corresponding call or put contract. The platform handles the option’s structure through that process, according to the company’s description of its trading experience.
Explaining that design, Taro Ugen, Blockchain.com’s vice president of consumer, identified navigation difficulties across various providers and applications. He said the company organized its crypto options interface around the decisions customers make when expressing their market expectations.
Specifically, Ugen cited traders’ expectations of where the market will move and when it will reach that level. He also highlighted the amount they would commit to that view. Meanwhile, Blockchain.com handles the underlying complexity, with the design retaining the defined risk structure associated with buying options.
Crypto News Follows NYSE Proposal and UAE Bank Launch
As per earlier crypto news, Blockchain.com signed a memorandum of understanding with NYSE in September regarding tokenized U.S. securities. The companies proposed a connection that would provide access through NYSE’s planned digital alternative trading system, known as an ATS.
Under that proposed arrangement, Blockchain.com customers could trade tokenized U.S. exchange-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds around the clock. However, the companies made that access subject to the required regulatory approvals.
Separately, crypto news from Standard Chartered concerned its trading launch for affluent clients in the United Arab Emirates. Earlier this month, the bank introduced Bitcoin and Ether trading through existing bank accounts after securing regulatory approval.
For that service, Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, or VARA, granted approval, while initial access covers Professional Investor clients. Eligible customers can trade without opening separate exchange accounts or maintaining personal cryptocurrency wallets.
With this launch, Standard Chartered extended its cryptocurrency trading offering beyond institutional customers. The bank described the service as its first cryptocurrency trading offering for affluent wealth clients globally.
It also called the launch the first such service from an international bank operating in the UAE. Standard Chartered also targeted Singapore in an earlier crypto custody push.
