Crypto News Today: MoonPay Joins Upbit’s Owner While Buyers Pile Into Pepeto

Crypto news today reads like a list of giants shaking hands, and the deals keep getting bigger. On October 21, MoonPay agreed to explore stablecoin payments with Dunamu, the owner of Upbit, Korea’s top exchange, per The Block.

Bitcoin still trades at $82,736, about 34% below its 2025 peak, because deals this big tend to lift prices slowly. The fastest moves usually start in smaller corners of the market, long before the giants arrive.

Pepeto is one of those corners, and buyers are piling in. While MoonPay and Dunamu are still signing plans, Pepe’s cofounder has already shipped a working exchange, and buyers have poured over $11.1 million into the presale before listing.

MoonPay and Upbit’s Owner Plan Stablecoin Payments

The biggest crypto news today comes from Seoul. MoonPay and Dunamu agreed to work together on stablecoin payments, and the deal also covers GIWA, a network Dunamu built on Ethereum.

There is serious money behind Dunamu, per Cryptowisser. Hana Bank paid 1 trillion won, about $755.6 million, for a 6.55% stake, and Dunamu also plans to merge with Naver Financial. The talks have no timeline yet, so the market is still pricing them in.

Three Coins Worth Watching After the MoonPay News

1. Pepeto: A Live Zero Fee Exchange Running Before the Listing Arrives

MoonPay and Dunamu are still drawing up plans, but Pepeto already has a working exchange. It is still in presale and listed nowhere, a setup that mirrors Ethereum’s early sale at $0.31 in 2014. It is led by the cofounder of Pepe, a coin that passed $11 billion without any product. Pepeto shipped the product first. That order matters, because a working product gives buyers a reason to hold long after listing day.

That product is PepetoSwap, and it charges a 0.00% swap fee with no protocol cut, so traders pay only network gas. A $1,000 trade costs $3 on Uniswap and $2.50 on PancakeSwap. On PepetoSwap it costs nothing. Over 200 trades of $5,000, that saves $3,000, and active traders feel that difference fast.

It also handles market, limit and DCA orders, and a private relay stops bots from jumping ahead of trades. Coins stay in the trader’s own wallet the whole time. Bots, middlemen and custody risk, three of the biggest headaches in crypto trading, are simply gone. Liquidity comes from the project treasury and from stakers, who earn 161% APY from the staking pool instead of from trader fees.

SolidProof audited the contract and completed KYC on the team, a former Binance expert works on the build, while an anticipated Binance listing waits ahead. No wonder the raise has passed $11.1 million. Market watchers put a 100x on the listing, enough to turn $500 at this stage into $50,000, and each stage closes when its timer runs out or its target fills.

2. Bitcoin (BTC) at $82,736: A 2013 Whale Wakes Up

Bitcoin trades at $82,736.05, 34.44% below its $126,198.07 peak from October 6, 2025. On October 19, a whale moved 411.45 BTC, about $34 million, first bought in 2013 at about $131 a coin, per CoinDesk.

Laser Digital’s Luca Invernizzi sees a clean break above $90,000 opening room for another leg up. From our view, the 53% climb back to the high is real money, but it is a slow grind for the biggest coin in crypto.

3. Ethereum (ETH) at $2,441: Ether Funds See a Fourth Day of Outflows

Ether sits at $2,441.05, about 51% under its $4,953.73 high from August 2025. Ether funds lost $103.3 million on October 20, their fourth straight day of outflows, per CoinDesk. Trader Don marks $2,662 as the next big line, with support at $2,400, per The Coin Republic.

From our view, a run back to the old high is about a double. That is solid for a giant, but slow next to an early entry.

Crypto News Today: Giants Build for Years, While Pepeto’s Exchange Already Runs

MoonPay and Upbit’s owner just backed stablecoin payments, but today’s crypto news also shows how slowly giants move. Bitcoin needs about 53% to reach its peak, and Ethereum needs about 103%. Pepeto is built for a much bigger move, with a live 0% fee exchange, a SolidProof audit and over $11.1 million already raised.

That 2013 whale turned $131 coins into $34 million mostly because of when it bought, and Pepeto’s current stage offers that same early timing today, with a working exchange behind it, until the stage timer runs out.

FAQs

What is the top crypto news today, and does it matter for small buyers?

Why are buyers grabbing Pepeto’s stage now instead of waiting for listing?

Because each stage opens higher than the last, so today’s entry is the earliest left. Analysts tie a 100x to Pepeto’s listing.
