The cryptocurrency market entered a correction on Sept. 5, with Bitcoin falling below $80,000 while Dash (DASH) emerged as the top-performing asset among the 100 largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, according to CoinMarketCap.

According to CoinMarketCap at 11:00 a.m. KST on Sept. 5, Bitcoin (BTC) fell 1.37% from the previous day to $79,607.32, while Ethereum (ETH) declined 1.88% to $2,453.51, as major cryptocurrencies broadly traded lower.
XRP dropped 2.97% to $1.39, while Solana (SOL) slipped 1.51% to $101.90. Dogecoin (DOGE) fell 2.23% to $0.08482, and Avalanche (AVAX) declined 1.31% to $7.39.
Tron (TRX) was one of the few major cryptocurrencies to post a gain, rising 0.75% to $0.3321. World Liberty Financial (WLFI) fell 1.58% to $0.05657, while Worldcoin (WLD) edged down 1.57% to $0.3858.
Among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, Dash (DASH) recorded the biggest 24-hour gain, soaring 38.96%. LayerZero (ZRO) posted the steepest decline, falling 9.48%.
Elsewhere in the altcoin market, QUAI surged 13.93% to $0.009728, while ALEO slipped 1.08% to $0.01685.
CoinMarketCap also added five newly listed cryptocurrencies over the past 24 hours: Credible Finance (CRED), clan.tech (CLAN), A Meme Coin (AMC), memestock (MEMESTOCK), and The Dogestar (SIRIUS).
