CRV climbs on heavy volume as weeks-long recovery builds
Curve DAO Token ($CRV) is trading near $0.32, up 20.5% over the past 24 hours and 33.7% on the week, with trading volume tripling to $261.5 million. The move adds further momentum to a weeks-long recovery that has tracked a broader market-wide rally. Coinbase data puts the latest CRV price at $0.3158, reflecting roughly a 20% rise compared to where the token stood 24 hours prior.
CRV had fallen from a high of $1.33 in late 2024, sliding through 2025 and into Q1 2026, where it bottomed near $0.18. The current rally marks a meaningful rebound from those lows, though the token remains well below its prior peaks.
Llamalend V2 on Ethereum and a fee-share proposal fuel optimism
The price move comes on the heels of @CurveFinance's H1 report, which confirmed that Llamalend V2 is now live on Ethereum with fees accruing directly to the DAO. The report also flagged a coming governance proposal to lift the DAO's protocol fee share from 10% to 30%, a change that could materially improve token economics for CRV holders.
Curve Finance completed a security audit of Llamalend V2 conducted by ChainSecurity before the system's initial deployment on Optimism, with contracts subsequently deployed on the Ethereum mainnet on August 13.
Llamalend V2 introduces several notable upgrades, including support for LP tokens and Principal Tokens as collateral, and the ability to create lending markets using assets beyond crvUSD, the protocol's native stablecoin.Non-crvUSD markets are able to carry an admin fee that flows to the Curve DAO, giving Llamalend a clearer role in Curve's long-term economics.
For the broader DeFi lending space, the upgrades position Curve as a fuller financial stack: a DEX, a stablecoin, and a lending layer all working together, placing it in more direct competition with protocols such as Aave.
