Angel investor Jason Calacanis has issued one of his bluntest warnings yet on Bitcoin, telling followers to sell and move their money into artificial intelligence.
“A brutal year for Bitcoin is just getting started,” Calacanis wrote on X on Tuesday. “Give me three minutes to explain why you should dump it now.”
Why Calacanis is turning away
The All-In podcast co-host predicted Bitcoin “will test the 57k low again in the next 12 months,” pointing to outflows from Bitcoin exchange-traded funds as a warning sign.
His bigger argument is that investors now have better places for their money.
“Why put your resources into a dead network that offers nothing beyond a store of value? What's the point of place the BTC be if Bitcoin's Ponzi-scheme nature has gone away!?” he wrote.

Calacanis said Bitcoin’s hype has faded, adding that “the memes and NFTs are gone.” He urged investors to “sell and shift from Bitcoin to Super Intelligence,” and ended with a stark call: “Bitcoin will never break its all-time high again.”
“No one is saying $ BTC can change the world, because it won't — and BECAUSE AI HAS! Just sell and shift from Bitcoin to Super Intelligence because one provides little to no value, and the other provides unlimited upside for humanity,” he further added in his post.
Bitcoin trades near $80,000, about 37% below its October 2025 record of $126,198.
Not his first swipe
Calacanis has been bearish for months.
On Sept. 19, he called Bitcoin “a boring store of value” and said “the dead cat continues to bounce.”
That post drew quick pushback. Strategy’s Michael Saylor replied that “preserving wealth across generations is a bigger ambition than entertaining a dinner party.”
Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood also responded: “Bitcoin is not a dead cat, Jason! It has many lives ahead.”
ETF flows also tell a mixed story.
Bitcoin funds lost about $278 million in the first half of October, but drew strong inflows on several days since.
