EGRAG Flags $227 as Key QNT Level Following Clearing House Rally
CryptoCompass editorial visual for markets coverage.

In Brief:

  • Quant’s Clearing House selection confirms a banking technology role, but neither announcement establishes direct QNT token demand from participating institutions.
  • QNT briefly reached $371 before retreating, while EGRAG identifies $227 as the level that could validate the breakout for buyers.
  • A decline below $165 could expose $115 and $75, although the unfinished monthly candle leaves the broader price trend unresolved.

Quant’s selection for a banking payments initiative sent QNT soaring, but analyst EGRAG Crypto warned that the breakout remains unproven. According to EGRAG’s post on X, QNT rose from roughly $60 to a brief $371 peak following The Clearing House announcement, then retreated as buyers faced a test of the levels crossed during the rally.

The Clearing House selected Quant to support its On-Chain Money Initiative, a planned network for clearing and settling tokenized bank deposits. Quant will provide technology that coordinates transactions across the network and connects it with existing payment systems, including RTP and CHIPS. The Clearing House expects participating institutions to gain access during the first half of 2027.

Quant stated that it secured the role through a competitive process, giving the announcement a concrete basis beyond market speculation. However, neither organization confirmed that participating banks must buy QNT tokens before they can use the planned network. The announcements also leave unanswered whether a higher volume of bank transactions would produce proportional demand for QNT.

Those unanswered questions underpin EGRAG’s distinction between Quant gaining a significant technology role and QNT sustaining its rapid price advance.

Why EGRAG Sees $227 as the Test for QNT

The supplied monthly chart shows QNT crossing $165 and $227 before climbing into an area EGRAG identifies as a fair value gap. Although the price briefly reached approximately $371, it pulled back and left a long upper wick on the candle.

According to EGRAG, limited sell orders may have helped buying pressure push QNT upward unusually quickly. He suggested that short liquidations and traders chasing the move could have added momentum as the price climbed. However, the chart itself does not establish how much either factor contributed to the surge.

EGRAG placed his immediate test between $220 and $230, with $227 serving as the principal level for assessing strength. In his analysis, holding above $227 would suggest buyers remain willing to trade QNT at its higher price. A close below the $227 to $200 area, however, would raise the possibility of a liquidity trap.

What a Break Below $165 Could Mean

If QNT falls further, EGRAG identifies $165 as the next important level because the rally previously pushed through it. Losing that level would bring $115 and approximately $75 back into consideration under the downside scenario shown on his chart.

Those prices remain potential support areas rather than confirmed destinations, particularly because the chart displays an unfinished monthly candle. Its final close could give a different picture of the breakout than the intra-month surge and subsequent retreat.

The Clearing House agreement confirms a role for Quant’s technology, while the announcements leave QNT’s direct economic role unspecified. Consequently, EGRAG’s price levels offer traders a way to assess the rally as further details about the network emerge. A sustained hold above $227 would strengthen his breakout case, whereas a fall below $165 would deepen doubts about the rally.
