Five-Week Inflow Run Hits a Speed Bump
US spot Ethereum ($ETH) exchange-traded funds have recorded back-to-back days of net outflows to open the current trading week. The funds shed $14.59 million on Monday and a further $1.76 million on Tuesday, putting the week $16.35 million in the red with several sessions still to report.
The outflows interrupt what had been a strong run of institutional demand. Five consecutive weeks of net inflows preceded this reversal, capped by a weekly total of $244.94 million in the seven days ending August 7. That streak followed an earlier recovery in July, when spot Ethereum ETFs recorded their first positive week after eight straight weeks of net outflows, pulling in $84.42 million for the week ending July 11.
Where the Market Stands
Despite the near-term softness, the broader picture for Ethereum ETFs remains constructive. Total net assets across the US spot product suite stand at $10.48 billion, representing 4.61% of the circulating Ethereum supply. That figure is broadly consistent with the $10.74 billion in total net assets reported as recently as August 7, when BlackRock's ETHA led daily inflows with $38.15 million and Fidelity's FETH contributed a further $11.45 million.
BlackRock's ETHA has emerged as the dominant vehicle in the category. ETHA controls roughly 68% of US spot ETH ETF assets, with its lower fee structure drawing institutional capital away from legacy Grayscale products. Two days of modest outflows are unlikely to alter that structural positioning, but the figures will be watched closely given the size of the inflow run that preceded them.
Flow data for the remainder of the week has yet to be reported. Analysts and investors will be looking to see whether Monday and Tuesday represent a brief pause or the start of a broader reversal in sentiment toward Ethereum's regulated investment wrappers.
