Ethereum Staking Arrives at Interactive Brokers Via Zerohash

  • Eligible Interactive Brokers LLC clients can stake ETH through the Client Portal.
  • Zerohash provides the service, with earned rewards added to staked balances.
  • Staking initially supports Ethereum, while the broader platform offers 20 tradable digital assets.

Interactive Brokers launched Ethereum staking on October 13, giving eligible clients another way to use their existing crypto holdings. Zerohash provides the service through the broker’s Client Portal. IBKR shares traded around $87, down more than 1% in the supplied intraday report, although the price move cannot be attributed to the announcement alone.

Ethereum staking dashboard adds requests and reward tracking

Eligible Interactive Brokers LLC customers can submit staking and unstaking requests through a dedicated dashboard. They can also track pending activity within the same portal used to manage their brokerage relationship.

Rewards, when earned, are credited as additional staked ETH. These balances can compound while the position remains staked, according to the company’s launch announcement.

Chief Executive Milan Galik compared the new service with the broker’s Stock Yield Enhancement Program. That program lets participating investors earn additional income from shares they hold.

The Ethereum staking launch initially covers ETH alone. The company’s separate support for trading 20 digital assets does not mean those assets are all available for staking.

Eligibility depends on the Interactive Brokers affiliate and the customer’s country of residence. The announcement does not specify a fixed reward rate or promise a particular return.

Crypto transfers and stablecoins broaden brokerage access

Ethereum staking follows earlier additions to trading and funding services. Interactive Brokers introduced crypto trading in 2021 and expanded its asset selection in 2025.

Its current trading list includes Bitcoin, Solana, XRP, Chainlink, Aave and Dogecoin. Published crypto trading commissions range from 0.12% to 0.18%, subject to a $1.75 minimum per order.

Those trading charges should not be read as the cost of Ethereum staking. The services involve different activities, and the launch release does not present that commission range as a staking fee.

Eligible clients can also transfer supported crypto between custodial and personal wallets. Stablecoin services support USDC, RLUSD and PYUSD, with availability varying across affiliates and jurisdictions.

Beyond digital assets, IBKR introduced a combined prediction-market interface in May. It connects Kalshi, CME Group and ForecastEx, allowing customers to compare contracts and monitor positions alongside other holdings.
