Ethereum has staged a steady recovery from its recent lows, with the price currently trading around $2,460. This rebound has brought ETH back to a key technical region, prompting traders to watch whether it can maintain support above $2,400 and gather enough momentum to take on the resistance levels between $2,550 and $2,650. Over the past 24 hours, Ethereum’s price slipped 0.80%, according to data from Brave New Coin.

Ethereum holds support, targets $2,823 breakout

Crypto analyst Donald Dean noted a significant change in Ethereum’s daily chart structure. With a recent move above the descending trendline from its prior decline, ETH is now trading near a high-volume area between $2,400 and $2,450. Dean identified the former resistance zone as having flipped into a new layer of support.

As long as Ethereum remains above this band, the technical breakout keeps the price targets of $2,600 and $2,823 in play. However, if the price slips below $2,400, the risk increases for a retest of the lower support zone around $2,300 to $2,350.

While ETH holds above $2,400, analysts keep $2,600 and $2,823 as realistic technical goals, but falling below this level could trigger a new test of support near $2,300.

Whales create resistance at $2,550-$2,600

On-chain data shared by trader CW8900 shows that large holders have established prominent sell orders at $2,550 and $2,600, forming a significant supply barrier above the current price. Meanwhile, notable buy orders remain active around $2,400, underlining this area as a reliable support.

With concentrated demand below and clustered supply above, Ethereum is range-bound for now. A clear move past $2,550 would indicate that buyers have absorbed the sell wall, while a sustained acceptance above $2,600 could set off a drive toward $2,700 and the $2,823 target.

Weekly chart signals recovery

In a higher timeframe view, Ethereum has reclaimed the $2,300-$2,400 region following a rebound from previous lows near $1,500-$1,600. Rand Group described this area as an important pivot, having acted as both support and resistance during earlier market cycles.

Reclaiming the $2,300-$2,400 level on the weekly chart strengthens Ethereum’s case for recovery and keeps $2,800 and $3,400 as possible targets if momentum continues.

A weekly close above $2,400 would firm up the recent gains, positioning ETH for a move towards higher resistance levels around $2,800 and potentially $3,400. Holding this zone into the monthly close would further confirm the broader recovery trend.

Approaching the next resistance zones

Despite the recent bounce, Ethereum still faces resistance in the $2,630-$2,650 band. The chart suggests that a short-term retest of the $2,420 area is possible, as it has served as support in recent trading sessions. If ETH maintains $2,420 and rebounds, another challenge of the $2,630-$2,650 barrier is likely. Closing above this region on the hourly or 4-hour chart could pave the way for a push to $2,700.

A clean breakout above immediate resistance would reinforce the bullish outlook, whereas a loss of support could put downside pressure back on the market.

Outlook for Ethereum: Key levels to monitor

Ethereum’s price now trades within a well-defined range, with $2,400-$2,450 acting as main support and $2,550-$2,650 forming the key resistance cluster. A move above $2,650 may trigger advances toward $2,700 and $2,823, with $3,000-$3,400 as a longer-term upside region. On the downside, losing $2,400 could see ETH test the $2,300-$2,350 support band and, if sellers prevail, deeper declines may follow.

  • Bulls are watching for a decisive breakout above resistance, while bears are eyeing potential breakdowns if support erodes.

With ETH holding its reclaimed levels, the next significant move is expected to be driven by either a confirmed break above $2,650 resistance or a drop below $2,400 support.
