What to Know
- DonAlt targets $10,000 for Ethereum but plans to secure profits around $3,000, well below his most ambitious macro price projection.
- The trader entered near $1,900 and remains prepared to increase his position if ETH retreats toward the $1,700 support region.
- DonAlt’s previous XRP rally experience influences his strategy, favoring realized gains over waiting for ambitious targets that may remain unreached.
Crypto trader DonAlt has placed Ethereum’s technical upside target at $10,000, although his personal selling strategy remains considerably more conservative. According to DonAlt, he plans to exit his ETH position around $3,000 despite identifying higher potential targets.
The trader entered an Ethereum long position near $1,900 on August 13, placing himself near resistance within a consolidating market. DonAlt acknowledged that buying around resistance does not align with conventional technical analysis, but he preferred having market exposure.
His decision largely reflected his discomfort with holding no position while Ethereum remained within an area that could support another advance. Additionally, DonAlt remains prepared to increase his position if ETH retreats toward the $1,700 support region.
That strategy gives the trader flexibility if Ethereum experiences another pullback before attempting to establish stronger bullish momentum. However, his planned selling level shows that he does not intend to hold indefinitely for his highest projection.

DonAlt Sets $3,000 Exit Despite $10,000 ETH Target
According to DonAlt, his Ethereum outlook includes three separate price levels that represent different expectations for the cryptocurrency. His official target stands at $4,000, while his unofficial macro target stretches significantly higher toward $10,000.
However, DonAlt plans to secure profits around $3,000 rather than wait for Ethereum to reach either of those projections. A move from his roughly $1,900 entry toward $3,000 would produce a gain of approximately 58%. Consequently, the strategy highlights a clear distinction between identifying potential upside and deciding where to realize profits. DonAlt appears willing to sacrifice additional potential returns rather than risk losing substantial unrealized gains during another reversal.
His approach also draws context from his previous XRP trade, which became one of his most widely followed market calls. DonAlt identified significant upside for XRP when the cryptocurrency traded near $0.50 before its major rally. XRP eventually climbed toward $3.50, representing an increase of roughly 600% from the $0.50 level. However, the cryptocurrency reversed before reaching DonAlt’s maximum XRP target of $6.90.
That experience appears relevant to his current Ethereum strategy because ambitious technical targets do not always become realized market prices. Moreover, traders can reduce exposure before their highest projections when market conditions or risk considerations justify taking profits.
DonAlt’s $3,000 selling plan therefore remains central to his Ethereum position despite the attention surrounding his $10,000 macro target. Ethereum reaching $3,000 would already provide a substantial return from his reported entry near $1,900.
Meanwhile, the $4,000 technical target remains part of his broader outlook, while $10,000 represents the most ambitious scenario. His actual trading plan remains focused on capturing gains well before Ethereum reaches either higher valuation.
