Galaxy Digital has unveiled a new financial product enabling qualified GalaxyOne users to access liquidity by borrowing against their cryptocurrency portfolios without needing to liquidate their digital assets.

Dubbed the GalaxyOne Crypto Portfolio Line of Credit, this service permits users to pledge Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana—including staked Solana tokens—as security for a flexible revolving credit facility.

The primary objective is to provide cryptocurrency holders with capital access while avoiding taxable events that would result from asset sales.

Product Mechanics and Features

Qualified users can access borrowed funds denominated in either USD or USDC, with the platform promising immediate fund availability.

The credit line imposes zero upfront fees and charges an 8.99% annual interest rate. Galaxy explicitly states that client collateral will not be rehypothecated, ensuring that deposited assets remain unavailable for third-party lending.

Currently, the lending service is accessible to residents in 40 states throughout the United States.

Official Statement from Galaxy

Zac Prince, who serves as managing director of GalaxyOne, explained that the credit product leverages Galaxy’s institutional-grade infrastructure. He emphasized that the offering delivers competitive pricing, robust security measures, and operational flexibility.

Prince noted that the service targets cryptocurrency investors seeking to maintain their market exposure while circumventing the expenses and tax implications associated with liquidating digital holdings.

Galaxy introduced GalaxyOne during October 2025 as an integrated platform providing both cryptocurrency and equity trading capabilities to customers nationwide.

In early 2026, Galaxy broadened its lending operations through GOFR, a supervised lending initiative targeting institutional clients, high-net-worth individuals, and accredited investors.

Competitive Landscape Analysis

Galaxy’s entry positions it within an already crowded marketplace featuring multiple established providers.

Coinbase maintains a comparable crypto-collateralized borrowing service with promotional rates beginning at 5%. Ledn has provided Bitcoin-secured loans denominated in USD and USDC for multiple years. Nexo similarly enables clients to bundle various digital assets, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, as collateral for credit facilities.

Galaxy’s 8.99% annual rate exceeds Coinbase’s advertised entry-level pricing, although actual rates typically fluctuate based on individual borrower profiles and collateral composition.

The service aims to differentiate itself through Galaxy’s institutional credibility and the convenience of consolidating multiple cryptocurrency assets into a single revolving credit arrangement.

Galaxy Digital’s stock price increased 8.54% following the product announcement.

This launch underscores increasing appetite among retail cryptocurrency investors for liquidity solutions that preserve their investment positions.
