@Gate has added nine perpetual futures markets margined in @Worldlibertyfi's $USD1 stablecoin, giving traders a single, unified collateral asset to trade across crypto, commodities, and tokenized equities simultaneously.
What is covered in the new markets
The nine new contracts span a broad range of asset classes. On the crypto side, traders can access $BTC, $ETH, and $SOL perpetuals. Precious metals are represented by $XAU (gold) and $XAG (silver). The lineup also includes semiconductor-linked names such as $MU (Micron Technology) and $SKHYNIX (SK Hynix), alongside additional equity-linked contracts. The move reflects Gate's ongoing strategy of bridging traditional and decentralised finance through its derivatives platform. Gate's global user base has grown to more than 58 million, with its derivatives market share ranking in the top three globally and perpetual futures open interest holding at 11 to 12 percent of the global total.
Why USD1 as margin collateral matters
$USD1 is the dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by @Worldlibertyfi. It is custodied by BitGo Trust Company and backed by cash and short-duration US Treasury bills held through government money market funds. Launched on Ethereum and BNB Chain in March 2025, USD1 grew to a circulating supply near $4.5 billion by Q1 2026, making it the fastest-growing fiat-backed stablecoin of that period. USD1 is designed as a digital dollar for payments, trading, and decentralised finance.
By adopting $USD1 as the margin currency across this mixed basket of assets, Gate allows users to fund and manage crypto, commodity, and equity-linked positions from a single stable balance, reducing the need to convert between collateral types. The integration also deepens $USD1's utility beyond pure stablecoin use, embedding it directly into active derivatives trading workflows.
The launch adds to Gate's broader push into multi-asset perpetual markets. Gate had previously introduced precious metals perpetual futures, with contracts for XAU and XAG supporting up to 50x leverage and enabling 24/7 continuous trading. The new USD1-margined suite builds on that infrastructure, extending the same around-the-clock access under a unified quote asset.
