GEOD Spikes on Upbit Announcement
GEODNET's native token $GEOD surged more than 35% within minutes on July 27 after Upbit, South Korea's largest crypto exchange, announced plans to list the token with KRW, BTC, and USDT trading pairs. Trading was scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. local time, triggering a sharp move in the token's price. At the time of writing, GEOD was changing hands around $0.28, giving the project a market capitalization of approximately $127.25 million.
The Upbit listing is a notable milestone for the project. Earlier this year, GEOD had already secured a spot trading listing on Coinbase, with the GEOD-USD pair going live on June 23, 2026. That listing moved the token from smaller, thinner-order-book venues onto the largest US exchange, opening it to a much broader pool of retail and institutional buyers. The addition of a major Korean won trading pair on Upbit now extends that reach into one of the world's most active crypto markets.
What GEODNET Actually Does
GEODNET is a global high-precision positioning network built on a Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) model. By incentivizing users to deploy GNSS reference stations, it delivers centimeter-level Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) services for drones, robots, autonomous driving systems, and surveying equipment.
The network is powered by over 21,000 physical GNSS reference stations, often called "satellite miners," deployed across 160 countries. GEODNET utilises the DePIN model to significantly reduce capital and operational costs compared to traditional centralized alternatives.
The project also has a tokenomics structure designed to support long-term price stability. 80% of network revenue funds weekly buybacks and token burns, creating a deflationary mechanism that could support price as enterprise adoption grows. The network currently pulls in approximately $200,000 per week in on-chain revenue, a figure that has reportedly tripled since mid-2025, coming from paying customers in agriculture, robotics, and autonomous systems.
The Upbit listing adds further momentum to a project that has been steadily expanding its exchange presence and enterprise customer base through 2026. Whether the price gains hold will likely depend on sustained trading volume and continued growth in real-world demand for precision positioning services.
