As cryptocurrency adoption continues to grow worldwide, Deutsche Bank, Germany’s largest bank, has announced it is preparing to launch a cryptocurrency custody service for its corporate and business clients later this year.
Deutsche Bank Offers Cryptocurrency Custody Service to Corporate Clients!
Deutsche Bank announced in an official statement that it is preparing to offer digital asset custody services to its corporate clients in Europe.
According to the statement, the service will be available to initial customers after the necessary regulatory processes are completed. The bank, however, emphasized that the exact launch date has not yet been determined and that the launch depends on the relevant regulatory requirements.
Bitcoin and Ethereum Included!
According to Deutsche Bank, the service will initially support Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as select stablecoins. These include USDC, EURC, and EURAU. However, the bank states that the scope of supported digital assets may be expanded in the future.
Under the new system, Deutsche Bank will manage wallets and private keys on behalf of clients. This will eliminate the need for institutional clients to establish and operate their own in-house cryptocurrency custody infrastructure. Clients will also be able to transfer their stored digital assets to third parties.
Who Can Benefit?
The service’s initial target audience will not be individual investors, but rather Deutsche Bank’s corporate and business clients. The bank is targeting diverse client groups within the scope of the service, including corporations, asset managers, hedge funds, custodians, brokerage firms, and government agencies.
Customer acceptance will be carried out in accordance with the bank’s criteria, due diligence requirements, and risk assessments.
